A cartridge detachable from a printer has a roll paper unit including roll paper, a roller, and flanges, and a separation member used to pull out the roll paper from the roll paper unit. Upon rotating the roll paper unit in a direction to feed out the roll paper, the roll paper is brought into contact with the separation member, thereby pulling out the roll paper from the roll paper unit and feeding out the roll paper to outside the cartridge.

The invention provides a recording sheet containing package containing a recording sheet to be used in a recording apparatus, achieving convenient handling by the user, being inexpensive, realizable light-weight and compact for easy carrying and easily disposed after the use without giving significant influence to the environment. Optical apparatus for controlling operations based on a user's visual axis includes a finder for observing an object, and circuitry for judging whether or not a user is looking into the finder. First control circuitry is provided for discontinuing a predetermined operation of the apparatus when the judging circuitry judges that the user is not looking into the finder. Second control circuitry is provided for beginning the predetermined operation regardless of the result judged by the judging circuitry. Selection circuitry is provided for selecting one of an operation of the first control circuitry and an operation of the second control circuitry according to an operational state of the apparatus. An ink storage unit used in an ink jet recording apparatus for recording by ejecting ink comprises a plurality of ink storage chambers, a plurality of movable walls and a mechanism for holding each of the movable walls. Each of the ink storage chambers stores ink. Each of the movable walls is provided in the each ink storage chamber respectively so as to seal stored ink against air, and each movable wall can move according to a change of amount of ink in each ink storage chamber. The mechanism for holding the movable walls exerts a force opposed to a force which is exerted on the each movable wall according to the change of amount of ink, on each of the movable walls so as to make the pressure in each ink storage chamber an appropriate negative pressure.
