With one single apparatus, process of converting images recorded on a movie film into video signals in real time and process of converting images recorded on a movie film into video signals with high resolution can be implemented. A user selects a first operation mode and a second operation mode by a mode changeover switch. In the first operation mode, images of respective frames of the movie film are sequentially picked up in real time and correction of image shift is made by an optical axis correction part. In the second operation mode, to the same frame of a movie film, a plurality of optical axis positions differing by an amount corresponding to a half of the pixel pitch in the image pickup device are selected with the optical axis correction part, and, for respective optical axis positions, the image of the same frame is picked up, and for respective optical axis positions the image of the frame is picked up.

The film processing apparatus may include a guiding device for guiding the film along a path which passes nearby the film processing unit so as to enable the film processing unit to capture an image from the film and to perform processing of the same. The film processing apparatus may further include a device for exerting pressure on the film by moving the guiding device so that a portion of the film which passes nearby the film processing unit is held in tension, and a restraining device for restraining the guiding means from moving.

A shake discriminator comprising a first shake detection means disposed in a camera system to shoot a subject and serving to detect a shake of the camera system; a second shake detection means disposed in the camera system and serving to detect a shake of a cameraman's face with regard to the camera system; and a shake discrimination means for making a discrimination, on the basis of the detection outputs of the first and second shake detection means, as to whether the shake of the camera system is the one intended by the cameraman. An image displaying device which is able to prevent the occurrence of fluctuations in the picture which is projected on the screen, even if some positional fluctuations have occurred in the movie film. The optical axis correcting means is provided on the optical path of the transmitted light which has been obtained from the light source via the movie film, and also the detecting means is provided for detecting the quantity of the displacement from the base position at the time the movie film has stopped on the basis of the travel-synchronizing holes which have been formed in the longitudinal direction of the movie film, whereby the optical axis correcting means is able to change the angle of the optical axis of the transmitted light, according to the result of detection obtained from the detecting means, on the basis of drive controlling by the driving means. As a result the optical axis can be corrected. Thus, an image displaying device can be realized which is able to prevent the occurrence of fluctuations in the picture which is projected on the screen, even if some positional fluctuations have occurred in the movie film.

A data recording device for a motion picture film is provided in which one ends of plural optical fibers are connected to light emitting devices and the other ends of the optical fibers are arrayed in accordance with a dot pattern of audio data to be recorded. The light emitting diodes are turned on responsive to the audio data to be recorded on the motion picture film. The audio data carrying light, produced by the turning on of the LEDs, is conducted via the optical fibers to a head unit so as to be radiated on the motion picture film via a radiating port of the head unit. By the above arrangement, the optical fibers may be arrayed optionally at the head unit without regard to the array of the LEDs. Consequently, the LEDs are affected to a lesser extent by heat evolved on turning on the LEDs. By linearly arraying the optical fibers at the head unit 1, a larger quantity of audio data may be recorded on the motion picture film.

A motion picture film is provided on which a digital sound track for audio data is formed along the film running direction. Data tracks are disposed in the digital sound track along a direction normal to the film running direction and extend in the film running direction. A data pattern having a block of audio data is recorded in the data tracks, along with tracking patterns representing each data track. Each of the tracking patterns is recorded at one side of the data track along the film running direction with an offset in the film running direction of one half the width of a data track from the center of that data track.

A digital audio signal recording device which, in conjunction with a film magazine loaded with a motion picture film and an analog audio recording device recording analog audio signals on the motion picture film, constitutes an audio signal recording system for the motion picture film capable of recording both analog audio signals and digital audio signals on the motion picture film delivered from the film magazine. The digital audio signal recording device transports the motion picture film, delivered from the inside of the film magazine via the film reel-out section, into the digital audio signal recording device via a first film feed-in section, and then transports the film to the analog audio signal recording device via a first feed-out section and a film lead-in section. The motion picture film introduced into the analog audio signal recording device is returned into the digital audio signal recording device via a film lead-out section and a second film feed-in section. The digital audio signals are recorded in the digital sound track area on the motion picture film returned back into the digital audio signal recording device by a digital audio signal recording section provided in the digital audio signal recording device. The motion picture film, on which the digital audio signals have now been recorded, is delivered via a second film feed-out section towards the film magazine so as to be taken up in the film magazine by a film taker-in section.

A tape guide device includes a guide member of a cylindrical configuration for guiding a tape, a ultrasonic vibrator secured to the guide member for vibrating the guide member in standing-waves configuration and a supporting member for supporting the guide member. A rotation preventing member for preventing a rotation of the guide member is formed on one of a pair of tape position restricting members in the width direction of the tape, whereby the number of the assembly parts of the tape guide device is reduced and a mechanism thereof is simplified. Therefore, the tape guide device can be miniaturized. Also, the structure and the shape of the ultrasonic vibrator are selected so that, even when the tape guide device is miniaturized, a coefficient of friction between the tape and the guide member becomes an optimum value.
