An optical system comprises a pentagonal roof prism and a transparent plate. A rear surface of the pentagonal roof prism is provided with a triangular recessed portion. The wall of the recessed portion is frosted. The transparent plate is a triangular plate, slightly smaller than that of the recessed portion, and is applied to the wall of the recessed portion. The obverse face of the transparent plate is a transparent or polished surface. The transparent plate is applied to the recessed portion with adhesive having photo-transmissibility. It is preferable that the adhesive does not shrink when hardening.

Optical system having composite prism

A prism has a notch at a lower end of a third reflection plane of a pentagonal roof prism. The notch has a frosted wall, on which a transparent plate is adhered with adhesive. A miniature prism is adhered to the transparent plate with adhesive. The adhesive has photo-transmissibility, so that a transparent plane is formed between the pentagonal prism, the transparent plate and the miniature prism. Information displayed by an indication device is directed to an eyepiece optical system, via a mirror and the miniature prism.

Prism

A lens shutter type of camera is disclosed in which a zoom lens is positioned in a lens block (1) which has a sector gear (15) rotatably associated with the lens block and with a rotatable cam ring (14). The cam ring and sector gear are rotatable in a substantially constant axial position. A movable finder optical assembly (8) and a movable strobe assembly (9) are movable in association with movement of the zoom lens. The zoom lens is movable between an extreme telephoto position and an extreme wide angle position, as well a into a fully collapsed lens position beyond the extreme wide angle position and a macro or close-up photographing position beyond the extreme telephoto position. When the camera is in its macro mode, a prism (P1) is inserted into the finder optical assembly to correct for parallax; the strobe assembly is moved to change its illumination angle; and an optical wedge (4e) is pivoted into the path between a light receiver (4) and a light emitter (3e). A single cam plate (53) is provided to move the finder assembly and the strobe assembly. The photographic aperture (22b) can be selectively closed by barrier plates (31a) when the zoom lens is moved into its fully collapsed position. A light intercepting assembly (210) is provided for preventing light from entering the photographic optical assembly via cam grooves (20 and 21). This intercepting assembly includes a flexible code plate (90) which surrounds a peripheral portion of the cam ring (14) and which provides positional information relating to the position of the zoom lens.

Lens shutter camera including zoom lens

A structure having a surface to which an adhesive, fed from a movable nozzle, is applied before connecting an object to the surface. The structure includes a guide groove provided on the surface in which the adhesive is to be applied, such that the nozzle may be moved along the guide groove to introduce the adhesive into the groove.

Adhesive structure

A shutter release device for a camera including a shutter release mechanism which is mechanically released. The shutter release device is provided with a release rod which is pushed down to operated a shutter of the camera, a delay member moved by a predetermined distance relative to the release member to release the shutter, a restraint mechanism and a restraint release mechanism. The shutter release mechanism is controlled by the delay member. The restraint mechanism has an engaging leg formed on the delay member and a restraint projection formed on a base plate, and the engaging leg is engaged with the projection to restrain movement of the delay member. The release restraint mechanism has a release slant formed on the release rod and engaged with the engaging leg to deform the leg so that it is released by the restraint projection.

Shutter release device

A method for testing a waterproof casing having a flexible watertight portion having a flexible waterproofing portion, which is compressed to establish a water tight seal, and a stationary watertight portion, in which the watertightness is established by an adhesive, using a test casing to serve as the adjoining element, wherein the flexible waterproofing portion and the test casing together define a closed chamber, and wherein an air pressure change can be effected in the chamber through the test casing. The method includes the steps of establishing a first air pressure in the closed chamber, less than atmospheric pressure, which causes elastic deformation of the flexible waterproofing portion, and subsequently detecting a change in internal air pressure of the closed chamber. The method further includes the steps of establishing a second air pressure in the closed chamber, less than atmospheric pressure, but greater than the first air pressure, which causes a smaller elastic deformation of the flexible waterproofing portion than the first air pressure and, subsequently detecting a change in internal air pressure of the closed chamber.

A camera including a transparent window member having a window portion set in a opening (window) in a back cover of the camera and a peripheral flange surrounding the window portion to be adhered to an inner surface of the back cover. The camera also includes a light intercepting member which bridges the inner surface of the back cover and the peripheral flange adhered to the inner surface of the back cover. The light intercepting member has an opening larger than the opening of the back cover.

Lens shutter type of camera including zoom lens

A shutter release device for a camera including a shutter release mechanism which is mechanically released. The shutter release device is provided with a release rod which is pushed down to operate a shutter of the camera, a delay member moved by a predetermined distance relative to the release member to release the shutter, a restraint mechanism and a restraint release mechanism. The shutter release mechanism is controlled by the delay member. The restraint mechanism has an engaging leg formed on the delay member and a restraint projection formed on a base plate, and the engaging leg is engaged with the projection to restrain a movement of the delay member.
