A process for producing a liquid ejection head having a substrate and an ejection orifice forming member having an ejection orifice for ejecting liquid, including forming, on the substrate, a photocationically polymerizable resin layer which includes a photocationically polymerizable resin material and becomes the ejection orifice forming member; laminating, on the uncured photocationically polymerizable resin layer, a layer containing a condensation product of a hydrolyzable silane compound having a cationically polymerizable epoxy group and a hydrolyzable silane compound having a fluorine-containing group; laminating a water-repellent layer including a hydrolyzable silane compound having a perfluoropolyether group on the condensation-product-containing layer; subjecting the photocationically polymerizable resin layer, condensation-product-containing layer, and water-repellent layer to pattern exposure; collectively curing exposed portions of the photocationically polymerizable resin layer, condensation-product-containing layer, and water-repellent layer; and removing non-exposed portions of the photocationically polymerizable resin layer, condensation-product-containing layer, and water-repellent layer to form the ejection orifice.

Provided is an ink jet recording head, including a member provided with an ejection orifice for ejecting ink, in which the ink jet recording head further includes a water-repellent layer including a cured product of a condensed product obtained by condensation of a hydrolyzable silane compound having an epoxy group and a hydrolyzable silane compound having a perfluoropolyether group on a surface of the member on a side on which the ejection orifice opens.

A process for producing a liquid ejection head including a silicon substrate having a supply port to supply a liquid to a flow path, and an ejection-orifice-forming member forming the flow path between the ejection-orifice-forming member and the silicon substrate and having an ejection orifice to eject the liquid in the flow path. The process includes forming an etching protection film so as to cover the ejection-orifice-forming member; forming the supply port passing through the silicon substrate by anisotropic etching using an alkaline aqueous solution; and removing the etching protection film. The etching protection film includes an organic polymer material having a storage modulus at 80&#xb0; C. of 1.0&#xd7;10Pa or higher.

A liquid ejection head includes a member having a liquid ejection port, wherein a surface of the member on which the ejection port is open is formed by a curing reaction of a siloxane compound having a first group and a second group. There is provided an inkjet printing apparatus which can perform stable ejection also in successive printing at high speed even in a case of performing printing in use of a print head provided with an ejection opening surface having hydrophilic properties. A method for manufacturing an inkjet recording includes forming a photo-cationic polymerizable resin layer containing a photo-cationic polymerizable resin material on a substrate; performing pattern exposure of the photo-cationic polymerizable resin layer to form a latent image of a fine pattern including an ejection port; forming a water repellent layer containing a water repellent material capable of forming a bond in reaction with the photo-cationic polymerizable resin material on the photo-cationic polymerizable resin layer; developing the photo-cationic polymerizable resin layer to thereby remove a non-exposed portion of the photo-cationic polymerizable resin layer and remove a water repellent layer portion corresponding to the non-exposed portion to thereby form the fine pattern; and curing the photo-cationic polymerizable resin layer by heat treatment to form a member provided with the fine pattern and promote a reaction of the photo-cationic polymerizable resin material and the water repellent material.
