This disclosure describes examples of a filter media for use in filter devices, e.g., pulse filter cartridges found in power generating systems. Embodiments of the filter media include a base media and a membrane, which partially covers one or both sides of the base media. In one embodiment, the membrane covers a membrane area of at least one side of the base media, wherein the membrane area is less than a total area of the side on which the membrane is disposed.

Filter media and filter device comprised thereof

A filter cartridge assembly includes a first filter including a first cavity defined therein and a second filter coupled to the first filter. The second filter includes a second cavity defined therein in flow communication with first cavity. The filter cartridge assembly also includes at least one pre-filter extending about the first filter and the second filter such that a third cavity is defined between the at least one pre-filter and at least one of the first filter and the second filter.

Filter cartridge assembly for use with turbine engine systems

This disclosure describes examples of a seal element that can prevent leaks that occur due to sagging and/or displacement of a filter device from the tubesheet in a power generating system. The seal element can have a non-uniform profile that defines a material thickness for the seal element. In one example, the non-uniform profile defines an area or section of the seal element that is thicker relative to other areas or sections of the seal element. The thicker area corresponds to certain positions on the filter device that are susceptible to movement that can occur, e.g., due to particulate build-up during operation of the turbo-machine.

An apparatus is provided and includes an inlet, including a peripheral wall formed to define a pathway along which gaseous, fluidic and particulate matter flow and two or more nets sequentially disposed in the pathway, the two or more nets being suspended on the peripheral wall with substantially no clearance between each of the two or more nets and the peripheral wall and held sufficiently loosely to permit relative movement of each of the two or more nets such that an effective pore size of the two or more nets is variable over time to encourage fluidic condensation at the two or more nets and to permit a relatively substantial portion of the gaseous and particulate matter to continue to flow.

An adaptive vane separator system is provided for use with an inlet filter house of a gas turbine engine system. The vane separator system is coupled to the inlet filter house. The vane separator system includes a slide rail and a plurality of vanes rotatably coupled to the slide rail. The inlet filter house is configured to channel air to an air inlet of a turbine engine. A drive motor is coupled to the vane separator system. The drive motor is operable to selectively move at least one of the vanes to facilitate reducing an amount of moisture channeled through the air inlet.

A moisture reducing apparatus is provided that includes a housing configured to receive an air stream and a net disposed outside the housing. In the apparatus, the net is held sufficiently loosely to permit movement of the net such that flow through the net is variable over time to remove moisture with the net and to permit a relatively substantial portion of a gaseous and particulate matter in the air stream to continue to flow through the net and inside the housing to protect filter media from moisture.
