A cover glass sheet configured to cover a display element including a first textured surface having a surface roughness defined by a first arithmetic amplitude value, Ra1, and a first spacing value, Rsm1. Both values are measured on an evaluation length of 12 mm with a Gaussian filter wherein the cut-off wavelength is 0.8 mm. A first transmission haze value, Haze1, is equal to or lower than 10%. A first clarity value, Clarity1, and a second textured surface comprise a second transmission haze value, Haze2. The second transmission haze value, Haze2, of the second textured surface is equal to or lower than a maximum haze value, HazeMax (Haze2≤HazeMax), wherein HazeMax=4.99−8.13 10(Haze1)+4.67 10(Clarity1) %.

Cover glass sheet

A display device with a display element having a display surface and a cover glass sheet, having a first textured surface, such that the first textured surface is facing the display element. The first textured surface has a surface roughness defined by a first arithmetic amplitude value, Ra1, being equal to or greater than 0.12 &#x3bc;m (Ra1&#x2265;0.12 &#x3bc;m) and a first spacing value, Rsm1, being equal to or greater than 45 &#x3bc;m (Rsm1&#x2265;45 &#x3bc;m) both measured on an evaluation length of 12 mm and with a Gaussian filter of which the cut-off wavelength is 0.8 mm. The first textured surface is in direct contact with the display surface over at least a portion of a contact area of the first textured surface.

Display device

A method of manufacturing a glazing panel comprises the steps of: a) taking a glazing panel having on one of its surfaces (i) a substantially transparent coating layer having a transformable portion, and (ii) an enamel material associated with the transformable portion of the coating layer; and b) causing an interaction between the transformable portion of the coating layer and the enamel material associated therewith by healing the glazing panel to a temperature above about 300&#xb0; C. This may render a portion of the coating layer less susceptible to corrosion and/or non-conductive to electricity.

Glazing panels

The present invention relates to an electrically heatable glazing panel comprising a substantially transparent, electrically conductive coating layer which is adapted to be electrically heatable and is divided into a plurality of zones, some heatable and some non-heatable. The glazing panel according to the invention is preferably a side window which may be used for de-misting or de-icing purposes.

An automotive glazing panel has an electrically heatable solar control coating layer, spaced first and second bus bars positioned respectively adjacent a first and a second side edge of the glazing panel and adapted to relay electrical power to the coating layer and a data transmission window positioned adjacent the top edge of the glazing. This arrangement may be used to alleviate or reduce perturbations to heating of the glazing panel caused by the presence of the data transmission window.

An automotive glazing panel has an electrically heatable solar control coating layer, spaced first and second bus bars adapted to relay electrical power to the coating layer. The glazing panel is provided with at least two, spaced data transmission windows positioned at least partially in contact with the heatable solar control coating layer which are separated by a portion of the glazing panel which is in electrical contact with the electrically heatable solar control coating layer.

An automotive glazing panel having an electrically heatable solar control coating layer, spaced first and second bus bars adapted to relay electrical power to the coating layer and a data transmission window positioned at least partially in contact with the heatable solar control coating layer is arranged such that at least a portion of the periphery of the data transmission window is bounded by an electrically conductive band having an electrical resistance measured in ohms per square significantly less than the electrical resistance measured in ohms per square of the heatable solar control coating layer. This may be used to minimize perturbations to the heating of the glazing caused by the presence of the data transmission window and/or provide more even heating over the entire windscreen.

A transparent heat-swellable material, a method for its preparation and fire-resistant glazing panels in which it is incorporated, are provided by a mixture of hydrated alkali metal silicate and an additive selected from polyalcohols and mono-or polysaccharides, in which the additive content is in the range of 5 to 22% by weight, the water content is in the range of 12 to 19.5% by weight, and the hydrated alkali metal silicate has a silicon oxide (SiO ): alkali metal oxide molar ratio greater than 3.3 to 1. Glazing panels including the said material offer thermal insulation of greater than 30 minutes, a barrier to flames and fumes for greater than 90 minutes and thermal radiation of less than 10 kW/m , or even of less than 6 kW/m , after 90 minutes.
