The invention relates to a system for sending data in an optical network comprising source nodes (-----), each capable of generating, in a spectral band that is associated with it, a multi-carrier optical data signal obtained by modulation of a source signal at a source wavelength and of sending this signal in the form of single-band data bursts (-----) that can be associated with distinct source wavelengths, and a combiner () for combining single-band data bursts, sent by the source nodes in the spectral bands that are associated with them, into multi-band data bursts (--) occupying a spectral band corresponding to a juxtaposition of the spectral bands associated with the source nodes. In this system, a unit for controlling an instant of sending of said single-band data bursts by the source nodes, implements a control plane taking account of a path time of the single-band data bursts sent by the source nodes to the combiner.

One embodiment relates to a method for transmitting data via an optical network comprising a plurality of optical nodes, in which at least one wavelength is dedicated to the transmission, in the network, of data bursts transmitted by at least one source node and wherein the data bursts are intended for an addressee node. Method for transmitting data in a time-domain wavelength-interleaved optical network

A system is provided for determining a propagation time of an optical signal between two devices in an optical transmission network. The first device is designed to determine the propagation time following the transmission of an optical measurement signal in a propagation direction towards a second device using an optical link while passing through an intermediate device, which includes at least one amplifier and one chromatic-dispersion compensation module that introduces a delay, and following the reception an optical return signal from the second device using the same optical link in a direction opposite to the propagation direction. The measurement system is configured to extract the return signal output by the intermediate device; regenerate the extracted return signal; feed the regenerated signal into the optical link, at the input of the intermediate device; and obtain a return signal-reception time while taking account the delay introduced by said compensation module.

System for determining a propagation time of an optical signal between two optical devices using an optical link

A method and apparatus for switching an optical data stream via an optical network node, capable of switching optical data received at input ports to output ports. The method includes the following steps performed by a processing chain upon detection of a stream at a given wavelength by a given input port: determining a resource of the node based on a predetermined routing policy such that, for a given wavelength common to source and destination nodes of the stream, routing within the network is carried out according to a routing tree covering the network, a root of the tree being the destination node; consulting an occupancy table for the resource, indicating if at least one possible preceding stream is using the resource; determining a delay to be applied by the processing chain to prevent a collision between the stream and the possible preceding stream; and configuring the processing chain to apply the delay.

A method and apparatus for measuring a propagation delay of an optical signal between first and second devices in an optical transmission network, the optical signal being transmitted from the first device to the second device via a first optical fiber and from the second device to the first device via a second optical fiber. The second device includes a loopback having a first mode enabling the optical signal to be routed between the two devices. The method includes: detecting by the second device a triggering by the first device of a propagation delay measurement; receiving a measurement signal transmitted by the first device via the first optical fiber; and configuring the loopback in a second mode in which the loopback injects a return signal into the first fiber in response to the measurement signal. The first device implements a method for determining the propagation delay.

Technique for determining a propagation delay of an optical signal between two optical devices via an optical link

A method and apparatus are provided for processing a delayed resource reservation request in an optical telecommunication network for transferring data between a source device and a destination device, wherein the control plane is different from the transfer plane. Upon a node device of the network receiving the resource reservation request sent from the source device to the destination device via a path including at least one node device, the request containing at least one first parameter relating to the start of the connection at the source device, the method includes the following steps: obtaining information relating to a signal transfer time via the path up to an upstream node device; updating the information by adding a signal transfer time at the intermediate equipment; and calculating a date for the start of the resource reservation at the node device using the value of the first received parameter and the information.
