A device and method for detecting the level of foam in a reactor vessel monitors the intensity of the light or the movement of the light detected by a camera which monitors at least one light source positioned inside the reactor vessel or viewable through the reactor vessel.

The disclosed systems and methods for monitoring a patient in a medical setting may include various types of sensors that obtain data indicative of one or more patient parameters and one or more environmental parameters. One or more processors may process the data to identify a correlation, or causal relationship, between the one or more patient parameters and the one or more environmental parameters. Thus, the systems and methods may be used to identify particular environmental parameters that affect a particular patient to facilitate creation of a suitable environment for the particular patient. The disclosed monitoring systems and methods may be especially useful for sensitive, high-risk, and/or non-verbal patients, such as infants in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Systems and methods for monitoring a patient

A method involves receiving a test image of at least a portion of a test object which includes a test moir&#xe9; pattern generated by superposing one or more reference gratings on one or more subject gratings. The method further involves analyzing one or more test beat lines in the test moir&#xe9; pattern and calculating one or more test values based on the analysis of the one or more test beat lines. The one or more test values are a function of one or more rotational angles corresponding to the one or more subject gratings and a shape of at least the portion of the test object. The method also involves calculating one or more angular errors of the one or more subject gratings based on the one or more test values and one or more template values and sending a notification based on the one or more angular errors.

System and method for inspecting an object

An automated system for inspecting a porous substrate using a sample, comprising, a delivery device positioned to apply the sample to a target point on the porous substrate along a sample axis; an imaging device and one or more lenses, positioned so that the imaging device and the lens each has a focus axis that is offset from the sample axis, and have a viewing focal point that is substantially the same as the target point; a light source that is offset from the delivery device to illuminate the surface target; and a processor comprising a data acquisition and control system that coordinates timing and automation of the delivery and imaging devices, and determines one or more characteristics of the porous substrate.
