Event-based sensor systems and method for operating event-based sensor systems are disclosed. A sensor system includes an array of sensor elements arranged in columns and rows, wherein each sensor element in the array of sensor elements includes, a detector circuit, an active pixel sensor (APS) circuit, and a dynamic vision sensor (DVS) circuit, the DVS circuit including an event trigger switch configured to control application of a signal on an event trigger line in response to a pixel-specific event trigger signal.

Methods and system for signal sampling using spatial dispersion are disclosed. In an example, a system includes a time-to-wavelength dispersion system configured to generate a wavelength dispersed optical pulse that is modulated according to an input signal, a wavelength-to-space dispersion system configured to spatially disperse the wavelength dispersed optical pulse by wavelength to produce a spatially dispersed optical pulse, a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) optical system configured to transform the spatially dispersed optical pulse into a frequency domain transformed optical pulse, a sensor system configured to convert the frequency domain transformed optical pulse to electrical signals, the sensor system including a two-dimensional (2D) array of photodetectors, and a processor configured to determine frequency information about the input signal from the electrical signals.

Methods and systems for signal sampling using spatial dispersion and photonics assistance

Analog-to-information converter and method for performing analog-to-information conversion samples and down-converts N samples of an input multi-band signal using M analog sampling filters or samplers, where N is less than M. The N samples of the input multi-band signal are digitized to produce N digital samples of the input multi-band signal, which are multiplexed into M digital samples of the input multi-band signal. The M digital samples are up-converted and filtered at M digital reconstruction filters to produce a digital multi-band signal, which is processed at a processing unit to obtain information contained in the digital multi-band signal.

Analog-to-information conversion using analog pre-processing sensing of multi-band signals

A signal processing system for an imaging device is provided. The signal processing system includes: a plurality of readout circuitries that are connected in parallel, where each readout circuitry includes: one or more interface circuits to receive an analog signal; an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) circuit to convert the analog signal to a digital signal; and a plurality of switches coupled between the ADC circuit and a plurality of storage circuits, where the plurality of switches includes a first switch and a second switch; a controller to: (i) control the first switch to decouple the ADC circuit from a first storage circuit, where the first storage circuit stores a previous digital signal of a previous iteration; and (ii) control the second switch to couple the ADC circuit to the second storage circuit, where the second storage circuit stores a current digital signal; and a transmitter to transmit the previous digital signal.
