The invention relates to an elevator arrangement comprising an elevator with a control system, and an inspection or maintenance mode, which elevator further comprises an elevator car arranged to run up and down in an elevator shaft along its guide rails, and which elevator car is equipped with a roof and a car operating panel. The arrangement comprises actuating means to open the roof of the elevator car, which actuating means are operatively connected to the car operating panel of the elevator.

An elevator arrangement including an elevator with an elevator control system, a safety system and an inspection or maintenance mode, which elevator having an elevator car arranged to run up and down in an elevator shaft along guide rails, and which elevator car is equipped with a roof. The roof of the elevator car is arranged to uncover upper part of the elevator car in order to form a natural safe working space inside the elevator car, and that the arrangement includes a control mechanism in order to control the position of the roof.

A counterweight module, a locking element, a counterweight and a method for assembling a counterweight are disclosed. The counterweight module includes a first part and a second part, between which a straight joint is arranged at right angle in relation to the longitudinal direction of the counterweight module. The counterweight locking element can be used to secure the counterweight modules into a counterweight frame. In the method, the counterweight is filled with balancing modules starting from the bottom of the frame.

The invention relates to a method and arrangement for installing an elevator, which comprises an elevator car arranged to run in an elevator shaft along the guide rails, a balancing weight connected to the elevator car with suspension ropes and with a traction member, the elevator comprising further a hoisting machinery with a driving wheel in the lower part of the elevator shaft below the elevator car, the installing comprising one or more jumps to make the elevator serve higher floors. During the jump phase extensions needed for the suspension ropes are taken from first supply reels and extensions needed for the traction member are taken from second supply reels.

Method and arrangement for installing an elevator

The object of the invention is an elevator arrangement, which comprises at least two elevator cars that are connected to each other with suspension ropes or corresponding and are configured to move simultaneously with each other and reciprocally in an elevator hoistway, and a hoisting machine provided with at least one traction sheave or corresponding. The arrangement comprises at least one compensation means for compensating positioning inaccuracies caused by loading of the elevator cars.

The object of the invention is an arrangement for adjusting the tautness of a traction member of an elevator, which arrangement comprises an elevator car and a compensating weight, which are for their part connected to support the elevator car by the aid of a suspension member, such as a rope or belt, and also a hoisting machine provided with a traction sheave, and one traction member, such as a belt, which is adapted to transmit the rotational movement of the traction sheave into movement of the elevator car and of the compensating weight, and also a tension control means, which is arranged to adjust the magnitude of the tension forces exerted on the suspension member and on the traction member. The arrangement comprises a tensioning means connected to the traction member, and the tension control means is connected to that part of the traction member that is on the side of the compensating weight with respect to the traction sheave, and the tensioning means is connected to that part of the traction member that is on the side of the elevator car with respect to the traction sheave.

The object of the invention is an elevator provided with a safety device arrangement, which elevator comprises at least an elevator car traveling along guide rails and a safety brake device for stopping unintended movement of the elevator car. The safety device arrangement comprises a tuning apparatus disposed on the elevator car for detecting a presence on the roof of the elevator car.

Example embodiments relate to an elevator. The elevator may include a car of the elevator and a counterweight that are to be moved reciprocally, at least one roping or belting traveling via a top pulley assembly for connecting the car of the elevator and the counterweight to each other via the top pulley assembly, and at least one roping or belting traveling via a bottom pulley assembly for connecting the car of the elevator and the counterweight to each other via the bottom pulley assembly.

The tensioning system for the traction belt of an elevator is installed or can be installed in connection with the car and/or the counterweight of the elevator for pretensioning at least one traction belt running between these and comprises means for storing energy. In addition to this, the tensioning system is configured to use the energy stored in the means intended for storing energy for pulling in the traction belt in question for returning tension when the tension of the traction belt falls. An apparatus for fixing a hoisting machine in an elevator includes a machine station configured to arrange a traction sheave of the elevator, a motor and a plurality of diverting pulleys for one or more traction members into position relative to each other. The plurality of brackets fix the machine station into a final position, which is determined by a position of guide rails in the elevator hoistway.

The invention relates to an elevator having a hoistway, an elevator car movable in the hoistway and provided with a car brake, and a first coupling means movably mounted on the car, and a second coupling means mounted separate from the car at proximity of an end of the hoistway, the first and second coupling means being counterparts for each other and provided for being coupled in force-transmitting manner to each other, the car brake being triggerable by movement of the first coupling means. One of the first and second coupling means has coupling points at different vertical levels, and in the other of said first and second coupling means can couple to said one of the first and second coupling means at each of said coupling points. An elevator may include: a hoisting machine; a set of hoisting ropes; a traction sheave that comprises a plurality of grooves; and diverting pulleys. The hoisting machine may engage the set of ropes via the traction sheave. Each groove may have an opening for receiving an individual rope. Each rope may include steel wires of circular, non-circular, or circular and non-circular cross-section, twisted together to form strands. The strands of each rope may be twisted together to form the respective rope. A thickness of each rope may be greater than or equal to about 2.5 mm and less than or equal to about 8 mm. An average of wire thicknesses of the steel wires may be greater than or equal to 0.1 mm and less than or equal to 0.4 mm. The strength of the steel wires may be greater than 2,300 N/mmand less than 3,000 N/mm.
