The present disclosure provides a method, performed in an accessory device, for managing remaining wear time of the ostomy appliance (e.g. managing remaining wear time of the ostomy appliance, e.g. of the base plate disclosed herein). The accessory device comprises an interface configured to communicate with one or more devices of an ostomy system, the interface comprising a display. The ostomy system comprises a monitor device, and/or an ostomy appliance configured to be placed on a skin surface of a user. The ostomy appliance comprises a base plate. The method comprises: obtaining monitor data from the one or more devices, determining the remaining wear time of the ostomy appliance based on the monitor data; obtaining a user request to take into account at least a part of context data, in response to obtaining the user request: obtaining the at least part of the context data, adjusting the remaining wear time based on the at least part of the context data; and communicating, via the interface, the adjusted remaining wear time.

Methods for managing remaining wear time of a medical appliance and related accessory devices

Embodiments for determining an ostomy appliance wear time based on location data are disclosed. In an embodiment, an accessory device for an ostomy system comprises a monitor device and an ostomy appliance. The ostomy appliance comprises a base plate. The accessory device comprises: a memory, a processor, and a monitor interface coupled to the processor and configured to communicate with the monitor device and obtain monitor data from the monitor device coupled to the ostomy appliance. The processor is configured to determine an operating state of the base plate, determine a location of the accessory device, and determine an actual wear time of the ostomy appliance based on the operating state and the location.

Apparatus and methods for determining medical appliance wear time based on location data

Disclosed is a sensor patch () for attachment to a base plate for an ostomy appliance, and a method for manufacturing such sensor patch. The sensor patch having a proximal side and a distal side. The distal side being adapted for attachment to an adhesive surface of the base plate, wherein the adhesive surface of the base plate is adapted for attachment of the base plate to the skin surface of a user. The sensor patch comprises: a sensor assembly () comprising a plurality of electrodes (), and a first adhesive sensor layer () forming the proximal side of the sensor patch and being adapted for attachment of the sensor patch to the skin surface of the user. The first adhesive sensor layer comprises a first centre portion () having a first centre thickness and a first outer rim portion () surrounding the first centre portion. An alignment aid for aligning a sensor patch () on a base plate () for an ostomy appliance, the alignment aid facilitates easy and precise alignment of the sensor patch on the base plate. The alignment aid comprises a sleeve () having a first surface comprising a first sleeve section () and a second sleeve section (), the first sleeve section and the second sleeve section being connected along a connection line (), said connection line defining a hinge enabling the first sleeve section to pivot and superimpose the second sleeve section. An ostomy appliance has a base plate and a convex element. The base plate includes a film and an adhesive disposed on a proximal surface of the film, with the convex element attached to a distal surface of the film. A first hole is formed in the base plate and a second hole is formed in the convex element and co-axially aligned with the first hole. The second hole defines an inner perimeter edge that provides a lubricating edge that changes from a solid state to a semi-liquid state when exposed to moisture.

In a method and handheld device for capturing and digitally storing images of a wound, stoma, fistula or stoma wafer site, a representation of a view field of an optical lens of a camera is represented at a monitor. A marker is inserted in the representation of the view field in the monitor before an image is stored, the marker being configured to aid a user's positioning of the digital camera relative to the wound area, stoma, fistula or wafer. The patient holds the handheld wound and stoma imaging device in a position relative to his/her own body or in relation to the wafer, while the monitor is simultaneously viewable by the patient. Upon receipt of auser-input for effecting digital storage of the image in the view field, the image is stored in a memory of the handheld wound and stoma imaging device. The device may include a tablet device of smart phone suitably programmed by means of an applet, and optionally an adapter for facilitating the patient's handling of the device.
