Executing gestures with active stylus

In one embodiment, a stylus with one or more electrodes and one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying logic for transmitting signals wirelessly to a device through a touch sensor of the device has one or more sensors for detecting movement of the stylus.

A stylus includes a pen-tip; a sensor; and a processor operable to: operate in a lower-power mode and a higher-power mode; detect, with the sensor, a defined frequency or a defined range of frequencies indicating shaking of the stylus; and transition from the lower-power mode to the higher-power mode in response to the detection of the defined frequency or the defined range of frequencies. The processor is prevented from transitioning from the lower-power mode to the higher-power mode in response to detection of a frequency other than the defined frequency and a range of frequencies other than the defined range of frequencies. The processor, in response to a relative motion between the stylus and a device in communication with the stylus, process both a device signal representative of the relative motion and a stylus signal representative of the detection of the defined frequency or the defined range of frequencies.

Disclosed is a touch sensor, and a display device including the same. The touch sensor for a Delta arrangement of subpixels comprises a first group of conductive lines extending parallelly along an oblique direction with respect to the Delta arrangement of subpixels, the first group of conductive lines comprising first conductive lines and second conductive lines arranged alternately, the first conductive lines arranged at a same first pitch as the second conductive lines and deviated from the second conductive lines so as to homogenize the occlusions of the Delta arrangement of subpixels.

Touch sensor and display device including same

In one embodiment, computer-readable non-transitory storage media receive one or more signals based on motion of an object, a device, or both. The received signals are compared to a motion profile which defines unintended motion of the object, the device, or both, and this comparison determines whether any of the signals represent unintended motion of the stylus or device. The received signals are then processed to correct for the unintended motion defined by the motion profile.

Disclosed is an interdigitatable electrode for a touch panel, a touch panel including the same, and a terminal device with the touch panel, the electrode including a plurality of arms, each of at least one of which further includes at least one digit extending therefrom. A significantly improved accuracy performance of touch sensing would be expected.

An electronic ink display incorporating a touch sensitive screen which does not significantly increase the thickness of the electronic ink display as compared to conventional touch screen displays. The touch screen has a first and second electrode layers each having electrodes arranged to form nodes where the electrodes overlap. The electronic ink display contains microcapsules having different positively and negatively charged inks of different colors which are attracted the oppositely charged electrode to form an image.

A touch sensitive device includes a plurality of sense electrodes arranged in a pattern to receive charge from drive electrodes. The pattern of sense electrodes has extreme portions having worst case charge transfer times, wherein the worst case charge transfer time at multiple extreme portions is substantially equal.

In an embodiment, apparatus having a touch-sensitive screen, a touch-sensor controller and a flexible printed circuit. Conductive electrodes are substantially aligned with one or more gaps between pixels of the two-dimensional array. First conductive electrodes form vertices within the one or more gaps between pixels of the two-dimensional array such that the vertices do not obscure in plan view. The touch-sensor controller is configured to detect and process the change in capacitance at one or more touch-sensor nodes to determine the presence and location of a touch-sensor input. One or more tracks of conductive material is electrically connected to the flexible printed circuit.

Integrated touch screen

In one embodiment, an electronic display includes a display stack including one or more layers; and drive or sense electrodes of a touch sensor substantially disposed on one or more of the layers on or within the display stack. The drive or sense electrodes are made of a conductive mesh of conductive material.

An apparatus having a touch-sensitive screen, a touch-sensor controller and a flexible printed circuit. A plurality of first conductive electrodes and a plurality of second conductive electrodes are substantially aligned with one or more gaps between two or more pixels of a two-dimensional array of pixels such that the electrodes do not cross over at least one of the pixels of the two-dimensional array of pixels. The plurality of first conductive electrodes form vertices within the one or more gaps between two or more pixels of the two-dimensional array of pixels such that the vertices do not obscure in plan view at least one of the pixels of the two-dimensional array of pixels. The touch-sensor controller is configured to detect and process the change in capacitance at one or more touch-sensor nodes to determine the presence and location of a touch-sensor input.
