A method for monitoring a line is done in a simple manner by feeding test pulses and determining any interference on the test pulses by reflected portions of the same test pulses. In a normal state of the line, the measuring pulses have a transit time which is known in advance due to the predetermined length of the line, and the respective reflected portions of the measuring pulses are generated which propagate in an opposite direction to the measuring pulses. A deviation of the transit time from a previously known transit time, and a deviation from the normal state are recognized in dependence on the overlay.

A monitoring system contains a safety cable that has at least one line along which a fault sensor device extends. The safety cable has a capacitor with two electrodes and an inductor which is made of a conductor that is electrically connected to one of the electrodes such that a series resonant circuit is formed. By ascertaining a resonant frequency of the series resonant circuit, the state of the safety cable, in particular the wear of the safety cable, is determined and a possible future fault is predicted in particular. A flexible electrical cable is provided that extends in a longitudinal direction and contains a conductive core, with a reinforcing layer for limiting a bending radius mounted around the conductive core. The reinforcing layer is formed from at least one strand wound around the conductive core, which has winding sections with support surfaces. The support surfaces of adjacent winding sections are supported on each other to limit a bending radius.

A temperature measurement is performed using a sensor cable. The measuring arrangement has a first signal conductor, a feed unit for feeding a measurement signal into the signal conductor, and an analyzing unit which ascertains and analyzes a change in the signal transit time of the measurement signal as a result of a temperature-induced change in a first temperature-dependent dielectric constant and is configured to derive a temperature signal from the ascertained signal transit time. The first signal conductor together with a second signal conductor forms the sensor cable, and each of the two signal conductors is surrounded by an insulation which is made of a first material that has a first dielectric constant in the first signal conductor and which is made of a second material that is different from the first material and has a second dielectric constant in the case of the second signal conductor.

The present invention relates to a data cable. An embodiment of the data cable comprises at least one wire pair and an internal element. The at least one wire pair has two wires running parallel in the longitudinal direction of the data cable. The internal element has at least one flat section. The at least one wire pair and the internal element are arranged in the data cable in such a way that the at least one wire pair lies against the at least one flat section of the internal element.

A data line that is designed as a coaxial cable and has a line core that extends in a line longitudinal direction. The line core has at least one conductor surrounded at least by insulation and is surrounded by a multi-layer shielding foil, which has a non-conductive layer and a conductive layer. The present disclosure relates to a cable. An exemplary embodiment of the cable () comprises a plurality of conductors, wherein the conductors form several conductor groups (-), in which respectively two or more of the plurality of conductors are stranded with one another. A data cable has a specially formed stranded conductor, as a result of which the transmission properties of the data cable are significantly improved.
