A nut 15 for clamping a tie rod securing a rock has a tubular nut body 25 with a buttress thread 28. The nut body is subdivided into segments 31 by several elongated slots 30. The segments are connected by elastic ribs 26 whose cross-section is U shaped. On one end of the face the nut has a convex spherical end flange 17 which rests against an anchor plate 19. The slots extend through the flange as far as the inner wall of the ribs. Between the ribs the flange has radial notches 37, which extend as far as the nut body. In this manner the segments 31 are tangentially flexible. To clamp the tie rod, the nut is slid axially on the buttress thread of the rod. A clamping device with jaws reaches into the thread of the rod at its free end, and rests against the nut 15. When the tie rod is pulled with the jaws, the nut 15 is simultaneously forced against the anchor plate. Thus, a fast and accurate preliminary clamping of the tie rod is achieved.

Process, anchoring member, and clamping device for clamping a rod

An adhesive anchor comprises a tie rod 1 having a thread casing 3, a pressure nut 5 and a pressure plate 7. The thread casing is saw tooth shaped with steep flanks 33 facing the tie rod free end and flat flanks 31 facing away from it. The turns of the thread casing are wedged between the thread body 11 of the nut and the tie rod, considerably improving the transfer of forces between the casing and the rod. The anchor is especially suitable for the securing of gallery walls in coal mines.

Mine wall support anchor

For the progressive transfer of a tension or traction force from a fiber-reinforced plastic anchoring rod 10 to a threaded sleeve 20 surrounding one end of the rod, sawtooth shaped teeth are provided. The inclined flanks 6 of the teeth are increasingly longer as a function of the distance from the end 22 of the rod. The tooth length extension corresponds to the expansion of the rod under the local traction force which, because it becomes lower at each flank, decreases on a step-by-step basis. With this arrangement the rod can be stressed up to its breaking load without causing any damage to the threaded sleeve. This connection is suitable for any staying to fasten a cable to an anchoring element.

Arrangement for force transfer between longitudinally stressed members

A tie rod assembly for a rock borehole anchor includes a tension rod 3 having a plurality of wedge shaped spreading bolts 10 at its lower end surrounded by spreading sleeve 20 segments 21, and a sleeve 40 on its upper end threaded to a tension nut 60 which bears against a ground support or anchor plate 70 upon installation and tightening. The sleeve 40 mates with the tension rod via saw tooth configured circumferential ridges or fins 45, 46 having increasing inclination angles, to thereby provide for a constant force transmission per unit of tooth length. The tension nut and anchor plate have complementarily configured spherical bearing surfaces 65, 77, and the ground engaging lower area of the anchor plate has fracturable webs 75 to accommodate surface irregularities and projections.
