A telephone station including an optical display device fashioned as a display is provided. The display device is quickly and simply attachable by being pluggably connected to the telephone station by engagement of webs on the display device with springs in the telephone station.

A cover is provided for interchangeable character media or light sources including latch elements which interact with corresponding cooperating latches within a depression of the terminal equipment. The cover which can be released or attached at any time without the assistance of tools. The cover is fashioned strip-like and one end thereof includes a short nose cooperating with a recess in the depression whereas the other end of the cover has a resilient tab including a crowned thickening in its end region, this resilient tab engaging behind a shoulder within the depression. The cover lies against projections within the depression with pre-tension.

Cover for telecommunications equipment

A chip card reader has a fixed frame in which a movable carriage is mounted. The carriage supports contact means for reading the semiconductor chip in a chip card. The electrical connection between the contact means and the rest of the electrical circuitry is established by a ribbon conductor which is formed in a fanfold configuration. This reduces the likelihood of breakage and increases the service life of the chip card reader.

Chip card reader

A telephone set is provided including at least one deposit trough for the handset provided in the stationary housing part. A filler member is arranged in the edge region of the deposit trough, this filler member terminating flush with the deposit trough during table-top operation of the telephone set, whereas a nose connected thereto of one piece projects beyond the contours of the deposit trough upon use of the telephone set as a wall unit. The filler member should be securable such that the user himself can refit the telephone set to the two operating positions in a simple way. To this end, a freely accessible cutout into which the filler member can be introduced in two use positions is provided in the edge region of the deposit trough.

Telephone set for table-top and wall operation

A chip card reader is disclosed with carriages (2) mounted in a receiving part (1) for displacement counter to a spring force. A feature of the present invention is that the present chip card reader exhibits high contact forces and at the same time low card insertion forces. The carriage (2) carries contact springs (14) for the contacting of the chip as well as a device (11, 16) for turning the reading and evaluating system on and off, where the control of these two systems occurs through a slide (7) which is disposed in the carriage (2) crosswise to the direction of card introduction, and which is actuated by at least one control surface (8, 9) disposed in the receiving part.

A station for accommodation of a chargeable, cordless telephone is provided with a hollow for receiving the cordless telephone. The cordless telephone contains a cassette provided with chargeable batteries which serve to supply the current and which are charged by a corresponding charging system of the station when the telephone is inserted into the hollow. For the accommodation of a separate cassette which also contains chargeable batteries, the station is provided with a further recess in which the charging system also has access to the batteries. A separate cassette can be accommodated in the further recess of the station and kept connected to the charging system in an uninterrupted fashion, independently of use intervals and charging intervals of the cordless telephone. Thus the separate cassette is at all times available for rapid exchange with the cassette contained in the cordless telephone.

Station for the accommodation of a chargeable cordless telephone

An electrically actuated switch for opening and closing an optical connection between at least a first and second light waveguide characterized by a common basic member supported in a housing of the switch at one end with the remaining portion of the member being free of the housing, a mobile switching blade supporting one of the waveguides being mounted on the basic member, a fixed support for the other waveguide being mounted on the member and an electrical coil being positioned to create a magnetic field to change the position of the switching blade between a rest and a second position to open and close the connection between the two waveguides. Preferably, the electrical coil telescopically receives a coil member which has an internal surface for mounting the one end of the common basic member which is preferably a one piece member. The mounting of the basic common member reduces the influence of thermal stresses and external forces on the parts which stresses or forces might change or shift the accurate position of the end faces of the light waveguides which are to be coupled to one another in the switching operation.
