The male connector () comprises a first connector body () comprising electrical contacts () extending towards the free insertion end () of the first connector body () and provided with free end portions () that are elastically deformable. The first connector body () comprises a plug portion () extending in the insertion direction and being provided with first hook-like extensions () at its free ends extending laterally outward. The hook-like extensions () cover the free end portions () of the electrical contacts () of the first connector body () which are elastically biased outwardly to engage the first hook-like extensions (). Moreover, the female connector () comprises a second connector body () with electric contacts () extending towards the insertion end and being provided with free end portions () which are elastically deformable. The second connector body () comprises a socket portion () enclosing the electrical contacts () and comprising the insertion opening, the edge () defining this opening being provided with further hook-like extensions () extending radially inward.

Male connector, female connector and connector arrangement

An electrical plug-type connector is proposed with latching elements arranged on opposite sides of the connector for mechanical locking of the connector. The latching elements extend over not more than half the side of the connector and are arranged diagonally opposite one another such that when contact is made between complementary connectors, the respective latching elements along the sides of connectors are arranged adjacent to each other in a non-interfering manner.

Transportable, medical construction unit with a casing for receiving essentially electronic components with at least two casing parts surrounding the components. For the connection of adjacent casing parts rings are shaped onto the inner wall of the casing parts and coincide with the rings of the adjacent casing part. Locking pins are passed through coinciding rings arranged in aligned manner on a casing wall formed from the two partial casing walls. This ensures a reliable, mechanical connection of the casing parts with a minimum space requirement for the connecting elements.

Components, such as a plug connector are soldered in surface mounted technology on a printed circuit board. These components or devices have several parallel pin rows. For repairing the inner pin row or replacing the component, an opening is provided in the circuit board. Therefore the pins of the inner pin row can be reached with tools, particularly a soldering tool.

A patient monitoring/signal processing module with increased electrical isolation is disclosed. The combination of an inner isolation piece and an isolation film provide signal isolation and electrical over-voltage protection between a lower, isolated portion of the unit defined by a lower housing and the isolation piece and an upper, non-isolated portion of the unit, defined by an upper housing and the isolation piece, increasing the module's ability to survive an over-voltage condition without damage to itself or to the patient to whom it is coupled. The combination of the isolation film and the isolation piece results in a much thinner module than would otherwise have been necessary to achieve the same levels of signal and electrical isolation.

Patient monitoring module

Apparatus for measuring blood pressure is housed in a hermetically sealed, small casing, which is sealed in dust, water and pressure-tight manner by a film on the outside of the casing's cover and on the casing's underside. Pneumatic connecting lines are integrated into the casing cover and consequently separate the pressure-side area from the pressureless area in the casing interior. The casing interior contains a pump for filling a blood pressure cuff that is connectable to the apparatus, a valve for the controllable venting of the cuff, pneumatic connecting lines, pressure sensors and an electric control circuit and electric connecting lines. As a result of the construction according to the invention it is possible to obtain a high integration density and therefore a very small and compact blood pressure measuring module.

Blood pressure measuring module

A pneumatic connector for an automated non-invasive blood pressure monitor having a connector body (1) containing two oppositely arranged hollow cavities (8) for insertion of a differential pressure sensor in each cavity. The hollow cavities are connected by a bore (10) which is in connection with the main airway (6,7) in the connector body (1). Additionally, both differential pressure sensors have differential pressure sensors which are connected to the ambient air via a secondary airway.
