A method is disclosed of switching the active subscriber identity of a communication terminal which is capable at each moment in time of having only one active subscriber identity. An active subscriber identity switch from a first subscriber identity to a second subscriber identity is initiated. At least one parameter associated with a time of expiry of a timer associated with the first subscriber identity is stored. The first subscriber identity is deactivated and the second subscriber identity is activated. If an active subscriber identity switch from the second subscriber identity to the first subscriber identity is initiated and the first subscriber identity is activated, it may be determined whether the time of expiry of the timer associated with the first subscriber identity has passed. Network registration of the first subscriber identity may be performed only if the time of expiry of the timer associated with the first subscriber identity has passed. Corresponding computer program product, controller, arrangement and communication terminal are also disclosed.

There is described a multiple subscriber identity arrangement comprising a modem () and a control unit () associated with said modem. The modem is capable of receiving and/or transmitting messages related to either one of at least first and second subscriber identities, but not simultaneously. The control unit is configured to, when communication activity associated with the first subscriber identity is being performed (S) by the modem, cause the modem to send (S) an indication to a network associated with the first subscriber identity requesting compressed mode. There is described a multiple subscriber identity arrangement having a modem capable of receiving messages related to either one of at least two subscriber identities, but not simultaneously. The arrangement further comprises a control unit configured to, when the modem performs communication activity associated with a first subscriber identity: determine whether gaps not allocated for the communication activity associated with the first subscriber identity coincide with paging occasions associated with a second subscriber identity; and, if at least one gap not allocated for the communication activity associated with the first subscriber identity coincides with at least one paging occasion associated with the second subscriber identity, cause the modem to switch to the second subscriber identity to read one paging message on a paging channel associated with the second subscriber identity.

A method of switching subscriber identity between a first and second telecommunication stack of a multiple subscriber identity communication terminal is disclosed. The method comprises initiating a switch for a first subscriber identity from the first telecommunication stack to the second telecommunication stack and for a second subscriber identity from the second telecommunication stack to the first telecommunication stack. It is determined whether a value of at least one network related parameter associated with the first subscriber identity in the first telecommunication stack corresponds to a value of a corresponding at least one network related parameter associated with the first subscriber identity in the second telecommunication stack. Network registration of the first subscriber identity is performed only if the value of the at least one network related parameter associated with the first subscriber identity in the first telecommunication stack does not correspond to the value of a corresponding at least one network related parameter associated with the first subscriber identity in the second telecommunication stack. Corresponding computer program product, controller, arrangement, and multiple subscriber identity communication terminal are also disclosed.

A circuit mobility management entity (CMM) is intended a mobile network adapted for transferring data in a dual transfer mode to and from mobile stations. The CMM is arranged, when it has established a circuit-switched (CS) connection between a mobile station and the mobile network and when it receives from a radio resource entity (RR) of the mobile network, a message informing that the CS procedure corresponding to this CS connection is ended, to determine if a GPRS Tunnelling Transport Protocol (GTTP) procedure is running for a packet-switched (PS) signalling procedure which concerns the mobile station, then either i) require release of the CS connection near the RR entity if the GTTP procedure is ended, or ii) maintain the CS connection as long as the GTTP procedure is running, and require release of the CS connection near the RR entity when the GTTP procedure is ended.
