A method for operating a converter-based grid unit disposed electrically within an AC voltage section or adjacently to an AC voltage section of an electrical grid and electrically connected to the AC voltage section, includes using a control device to adjust infeed and drawing of active power and/or reactive power into and from the AC voltage section by actuating at least one converter of the converter-based grid unit. A multiplicity of measurement values is transmitted to the control device. The measurement values at least relate to different measurement variables and/or measurement locations within the AC voltage section or the converter-based grid unit. The control device selects a measurement value group from the multiplicity of available measurement values by selecting in accordance with a predefined selection guideline, and the at least one converter is actuated based on measurement values of the selected measurement value group.

Method and control device for operating a converter-based grid unit

A frequency stabilization arrangement for a power transmission grid has a modular multi-level converter with a first terminal for electrical connection to a power transmission grid, and an electrical resistor unit with a second terminal for electrical connection to the power transmission grid.

Frequency stabilization arrangement

A converter configuration has a converter. The AC voltage side of which can be connected to an AC voltage grid and the DC voltage side of which can be connected to a storage configuration. The converter has a plurality of converter arms, which each have a series circuit of semiconductor switching modules, and the storage configuration is arranged in parallel with at least one of the converter arms. The storage configuration contains a multiplicity of series circuits of individual energy storage modules. Each series circuit extends between a first and a second DC voltage busbar such that the series circuits are connected in parallel with one another. The converter configuration further has a balancing apparatus for balancing energy storage module voltages of the energy storage modules. The balancing apparatus contains balancing lines, which connect individual energy storage modules of different series circuits to one another.

Converter configuration

A method for stabilizing a frequency in an AC voltage grid includes exchanging active power between the AC voltage grid and an energy storage device of a compensation installation in which the energy storage device is connected to the AC voltage grid. An electrical power is transmitted in an interconnector that connects the AC voltage grid to a further AC voltage grid. The electrical power is measured. The exchange of the active power is initiated by a control device of the compensation installation depending on a direction of the transmitted power. An installation for stabilizing an AC voltage grid can be used, in particular, to carry out the method.

Method and installation for stabilizing a frequency in an AC voltage grid

An arrangement includes at least one series circuit having at least two series-connected submodules and an inductor. At least one of the submodules in one or a plurality of the series circuits has a step-up/step-down converter and a storage module. A protective module with at least one actuator is electrically connected between the step-up/step-down converter and the storage module. A method for operating the arrangement is also provided.
