A threaded nut of a ball-screw for a brake booster is constructed as a hydraulic piston and is produced from the group of martensitically hardening steels which are non-corroding with respect to brake fluid and which has in percent by weight: between 0.4% and 1.3% carbon (C), up to 2% silicon (Si), up to 2% manganese (Mn), between 12% and 20% chromium (Cr), and phosphorus (P) and sulphur (S) together at less than 0.015%, the balance being iron and, where applicable, melting-related impurities. Addition of the following materials to the above-described steel may be advantageous: up to 2% molybdenum (Mo), up to 0.2% vanadium (V), and up to 3% nickel (Ni).

A rolling resistant heat-treated steel, which has the following elements indicated in mass fractions in relation to the overall weight: 0.5% to 0.6% inclusive carbon, 0.0031% to 0.005% inclusive boron and 3.5 parts or more parts of titanium in relation to 1 part of nitrogen.

Tempered steel

A rolling bearing (), in particular for the mounting of the shaft of a turbocharger, which rolling bearing includes a bearing ring () and a number of rolling bodies (). The bearing ring () is formed from a steel which comprises, as alloy constituents, 0.05 to 0.65 wt % carbon, 0.5 to 5.0 wt % chromium, up to 1.0 wt % molybdenum, up to 1.0 wt % vanadium, and up to 1.0 wt % aluminum. The surface of the bearing ring () has a hardened surface layer () which comprises nitrites and which comprises a diffusion layer () and a connecting layer () situated above said diffusion layer. The surface layer () has a thickness of up to 1 mm. The invention also relates to a method for producing a corresponding bearing ring ().

A non-magnetizable rolling bearing component made of an austenitic material and comprising a hardened surface layer wherein the component of the invention is a material used for making the component contains manganese and a method for making such a rolling bearing component wherein the surface-proximate layer of the material of the rolling bearing component contains an admixture of manganese, is carburized at an elevated temperature in an oxygen-rich atmosphere and the rolling bearing component is then cooled.

A friction clutch arrangement for motor vehicles to control a clutch friction disk rotationally mounted on a transmission shaft which can be locked between two components has a clutch actuating device which includes a slave device adjacent to the clutch, a master device remote from the clutch and a force transmission system between the two devices. The slave device has an annular housing having an axial extension with a radially outer part and a radially inner part which are arranged concentrically to form an annular space containing a movable piston which is engagable with the clutch friction disk. A piston sensor in the radially inner part of the axial housing extension makes it possible to determine the position of the piston in the slave cylinder independently of external influences such as vibrations or dirt or of the influence of neighboring components.

A friction clutch arrangement for motor vehicles to control a clutch friction disk rotationally mounted on a transmission shaft which can be locked between two components has a clutch actuating device which includes a slave device adjacent to the clutch, a master device remote from the clutch and a force transmission system between the two devices. The slave device includes a fixed cylinder containing nonferromagnetic conductive material, a movable piston and a variable inductance travel sensor extending substantially parallel to the path of the piston which makes it possible to determine the position of the piston in the slave cylinder independently of external influences such as vibrations or dirt or of the influence of neighboring components.

A component (17) made of an aluminum silicon cast alloy whose surface is at least partly subjected to an anodic treatment to produce an oxide layer, which component comprises, prior to the anodic treatment, a surface-proximate deformation zone (4) configured as a homogeneous zone in which the silicon is uniformly distributed in the .alpha.-mixed crystal (1) and due to this homogeneous mixing of aluminum and silicon, the differing electric conductivities of the original structural constituents (.alpha.-mixed crystal, eutectic) are replaced by a uniform electric conductivity so that uniform oxide layers can grow during the anodizing process.

A machine part includes a surface suitable for rolling contact and/or sliding contact on another machine pad and made by an at least two-stage honing process, with a first honing step effecting a surface texture exhibiting a plurality of peaks and a plurality of pits and defining a mean profile line, and a second honing step for removal of the peaks to a level of the mean profile line for forming a plateau-like tenure that is interrupted by crossing pits, whereby the depth of the pits from the first honing step is maintained. Subsequently, abrasive grain is pushed into the surface for creating a crater-like recess, thereby displacing material at random in horizontal and venial directions for at least partially closing the pits. Mounds created during material displacement and positioned above the mean profile line are removed through a subsequent polishing process.
