A multilayer web panel with improved impact resistance having two substantially flat exterior walls and webs connecting the walls as one piece. At least one exterior wall has at least two adhesively bonded layers of one or more plastics, wherein the bearing layer of the exterior wall consists of an acrylic glass layer which is about 50% or more of the total thickness of the exterior wall, and the inner side of the acrylic glass layer has a thinner inner layer which is adhesively bonded thereto and is made of a plastic with a higher elongation at rupture than that of the acrylic glass.

A method is disclosed for biaxially stretching a band of thermoplastic resin which comprises attenuating a band of unstretched resin, in a forming zone while the resin is in the thermoelastic condition, by passing the band between two surfaces spaced at a distance less than the thickness of said band of unstretched resin while permitting said band to expand in width, and then cooling said band to a temperature below the softening point of the resin while maintaining the dimensions of the attenuated and expanded band; apparatus for performing such a method is also disclosed.

Method for making biaxially stretched articles of thermoplastic resin

A method for making a hollow shaped body from a thermoplastic resin by injection molding, which method comprises injecting an amount of molten resin sufficient for the preparation of the hollow shaped body from an injection nozzle into a mold through an injection aperture in said mold, injecting gas under pressure through said injection nozzle and aperture to expand and distribute the molten resin over the interior surfaces of the mold, whereby said hollow shaped body is formed within said mold with a gas-entry opening in said hollow shaped body, cooling the hollow shaped resin body so formed to a temperature beneath the softening point of the resin, opening the interior of the hollow shaped body to equalize the pressure therein with ambient pressure, and then opening said mold to remove said hollow shaped body.
