An apparatus for vertical callus distraction includes a linear drive having first and anchors, each with a plate-shaped region, that are able to be displaced relative to one another by way of the linear drive and substantially orientated perpendicularly to the direction of displacement. The first anchor is connected to a fixed bone segment and the second anchor is connected to a movable bone segment for cultivating the growth of callus between the bone segments. The linear drive has a first element with the first anchor fixed to an end of the first element, and a second element with the second anchor fixed to an end of the second element. The first and second elements are translationally displaced relative to one another with the linear drive preventing rotation of the first element relative to the second element, and preventing relative rotation between the first and second anchors.

Distraction device used for osteogenesis

Apparatus for mechanical purification of waste water has a stationary hollow shaft which is installed in a vessel for waste water and carries a variable number of hollow drum-shaped frames with pairs of filters adjacent to the openings in their sidewalls. Waste water is drawn into the interior of the frames by a pump which is connected to one end of the shaft whereby the impurities deposit at the outer sides of the filters. Such impurities are removed from time to time by suction heads which are adjacent to the outer sides of the filters and are connected to a single sludge pump by discrete conduits, one for each frame. The inner sides of the respective filters are then sprayed by clean water which promotes segregation of impurities and their entry into the suction heads. Indexible valving elements are provided to connect conduits for admission of clean water into selected frames with a single source of clean water and to connect selected conduits for removal of impurities with the sludge pump.

Apparatus for mechanical purification of waste water

Apparatus for straightening and severing coiled wire or rod stock has several sets of guides each of which receives stock from a different reel and each of which can be moved into and from register with rollers serving to advance the selected stock into one of several straightening devices. A synchronizing unit ensures that the placing of a selected straightening device into a portion of the path along which the stock advances toward and into the range of a severing device downstream of the straightening station invariably entails a movement of the corresponding set of guides into a preceding portion of such path. Each source can contain stock having a different diameter and the severing device moves with the advancing stock in the course of each severing operation.

Apparatus for straightening and severing rod-like materials

With contactor bodies formed of spirally wound up corrugated panels providing ducts in the region of the corrugation profiles which are alternately filled with waste water and air, there is a problem to completely fill the ducts and to provide a continuous flow through the ducts in a body of simple and rigid construction. In order to solve this problem, the corrugation profiles of at least one corrugated panel (3', 3') are inclined at a predetermined angle relative to the axis (XX) of the contactor body. Thereby, the disadvantages of the known, mechanically unstable constructions comprising a tube bundle are avoided and an intensive flow of waste water and air within the ducts is achieved. Advantageously, the corrugation profiles of winding layers arranged radially above each other or axially beneath each other comprise different inclination angles (a', a'), especially angles which are opened contrary to each other.

Rotating biological contactor for the biological purification of waste

In shears for rod-form material, especially in connection to roll trains, the problem exists of a space-saving construction, especially in the sidewise direction, in view of the multiple arrangements, as well as increased safety (reliability) of operation for the high-pressure hydraulic system of the cutting drive. The shear provided with two knife holders (MT1, MT2) and a fluid drive element (ZK) as well as a respective pressure feeding device (DS), is so designed, for this purpose, that the pressure work chambers (DA1, DA2) of the drive element, such as a double-acting cylinder-piston arrangement, and the elements carrying pressure fluid (high-pressure pumps, etc.) of the pressure feeding device (DS) are designed to be movable in common with a knife holder (MT1) which is movable in relation to the machine frame or a conduction (SF) of material to be cut, and preferably fixed in space with this latter (MT1).

Shear for cutting rod-form material

The present invention relates to an installation for showing up faulty areas on the surface of a bar-shaped, magnetizable workpiece. The installation comprises a feed station and delivery station for the workpiece, and a treatment station, arranged between the feed station and the delivery station, for the introduction onto and fixing of a ferromagnetic powder on the workpiece. The installation includes a support having guide rails between and through the station, clamping devices displaceable along the support and for clamping the workpiece and connecting it to an electrical circuit each clamping device having a drive device with a drive cable. The drive devices are connected with each other by means of a clutch coupling; and, the installation has a control device for regulating operation of the whole installation.

The invention relates to a shear for cutting-off sections of a profile material of the type having a stationary shear beam held in a housing and a movable shear beam which is arranged on a slide which is guided in the housing and can be displaced by means of a drive mechanism, each of the shear beams exhibiting at least one shear opening which is attached to the profile of the profile to be severed and with which are aligned inlet and outlet openings in the slide and housing for the profile material. Means in the housing define a recess in which is mounted the stationary shear beam and means in the slide define a recess in which is mounted the movable shear beam. The shear beams are arranged side by side in parallel and are removable from their respective recesses and, at least during severance of the profile material are biased by a biasing means together in a direction transverse to the direction of motion of the slide.

An installation for the mechanical-biological purification of waste water or sewage incorporating at least one biological stage and one post-clarification stage, the post-clarification stage incorporating a filter. The filter is a drum filter having a filter surface wherein at the inflow or deposit side thereof there engages a suction nozzle which extends transversely with respect to the direction of relative movement between the filter surface and the suction nozzle.
