The invention relates to particular oligonucleotides, pharmaceutical agents that contain these oligonucleotides, and to the therapeutic use thereof. The oligonucleotides are, in particular, capable of inhibiting the proliferation of pancreatic tumors. These oligonucleotides thus have a therapeutic potential for the treatment of pancreatic tumors. This can involve, in the broadest sense, an antisense therapy.

The invention relates to a method for isolating anionic organic substances from aqueous systems using polymer nanoparticles with cationic pH-sensitive surface groups. Extraction can be carried out directly from diluted solutions, biological media (blood plasma, serum, urine, etc.) and complex buffer systems (e.g. PCR preparations contain detergents) without prior derivatization of the samples or addition of binding buffers. After separation from the surrounding medium the conjugates of the corresponding substances and polymer nanoparticles obtained in this manner can be purified through additional washing steps and effectively desalinated. Owing to the pH-sensitivity of the basic surface groups, the bound substances can be released in a targeted manner after separation by modification of the pH of the medium. By using volatile bases contamination of the released samples with ionic residues can be avoided. By adding small quantities of SDS and acetonitrile during the separation stage, the sensitivity of the method can be raised further, especially when the substance to be isolated are present in low concentrations (<1 &mgr;mol/L). The method is a method of extraction with universal application, suitable for both low-molecular anionic compounds as well as peptides, nucleic acids and nucleic acid derivatives. Recovery rates are up to 100%.

The invention relates to polymeric soluble hydrogenation catalysts in which a metal of the eighth subgroup of the periodic system is bound by covalent and/or secondary valent bond to a soluble polymer. The hydrogenation catalysts are produced by reacting the selected polymer having a functional group with a metal, metal complex or metal salt wherein the metal is of the eighth subgroup of the periodic table, the reaction taking place in aqueous solution or in solution in an organic solvent. The catalysts of the invention can be used for the catalytic hydrogenation of organic compounds in solution.

Polymeric hydrogenation catalysts, the production thereof and their use

Soluble catalysts for polymerizations are provided which are formed from an organic polymeric material containing at least one functional group bound to a metal, metal ion or metal complex. These catalysts can be used to promote all types of polymerizations, such as of vinyl compounds, etc. These catalysts are produced by reacting the basic polymer with a metal salt or metal complex, particularly of a metal of the third through the eighth subgroups of the periodic table or of the third and fourth main groups of the periodic table, the catalyst being formed by exchange with the metal or metal ion being bound to the polymer.
