Clutch mechanism for friction clutch

A friction clutch comprises a first part and a second part. The first part comprises two carrier plates coupled together at a fixed axial spacing by means of spacers. The second part includes a damper plate disposed axially between the two carrier plates. The first part further includes a first friction disc and a second friction disc, of which at least the first includes a support plate which is mounted so as to be axially movable with respect to one of the carrier plates, by virtue of openings formed in the support plate with the spacers passing through these openings. A coupling device is provided, coupling the support plate to the carrier plate with respect to which it is axially movable. The support plate is disposed axially between the two carrier plates. The invention is applicable to sports cars.

A torsional damper device suitable for automobile vehicles comprises a driving part, an intermediate part and a driven part disposed coaxially and rotatable relative to each other within predetermined limits of relative angular displacement. Lost motion meshing teeth between the driving, intermediate and driven parts are adapted to determine these predetermined limits of relative angular displacement. First and second circumferentially acting spring units between the driving, intermediate and driven parts oppose relative angular displacement of these parts for at least two ranges of relative angular displacement. Lost motion meshing teeth between the driving, intermediate and driven parts define these two ranges of relative angular displacement. A first plurality of elements in the driving part include a friction disk and at least a disk to support and center it. An annular elastomer member has one side constrained to rotate with a guide ring and has its opposite side constrained to rotate with the intermediate member which is a hub plate. The first group of elements includes and rotates with the guide ring. At least one annular metal part which may be an adhesion plate separate from the guide ring or the guide ring itself is joined to one radial surface of the annular elastomer member. This annular elastomer member constitutes at least part of the first circumferentially acting spring unit. The annular elastomer member has at least an inner part of trapezoidal transverse cross section. The shorter parallel side of the trapezoidal cross section is nearer the axis of the device.

Torsional damper device

A torsional damper device comprises coaxial parts adapted to rotate relative to one another within predetermined limits. Two of the coaxial parts mesh together with clearance, the meshing portions defining predetermined limits of relative angular movement. A circumferentially acting elastic element is disposed between these two coaxial parts to resist such relative angular movement. A centering device cooperating with the meshing portions is adapted to urge the two coaxial parts circumferentially towards a rest position between the predetermined limits of relative angular movement. These two coaxial parts are formed with shoulders and the centering device comprise at least one elastic member, constituting part of the circumferentially acting elastic element, colocated with the meshing portions. A respective bearing member is disposed between each end of the elastic member and the associated shoulder. Thus the elastic member bears on the shoulders through the intermediary of the bearing members. Each bearing member is formed with a concave dihedron and when the two coaxial members are in a rest position the shoulders define a complementary dihedron. At least one of the bearing members is in one piece with the elastic member, whose corresponding circumferential end is shaped to form the corresponding dihedron.
