In a video camera using a silicon diode tube or a similar acting light sensitive solid state pickup element as a light image sensing device, a light control device which detects light in the visual spectrum and upon receipt of visual spectrum light operates a mechanical switching device which positions a Cut I-R filter in front of the image sensing device for visual light illuminated objects and positions a optical or neutral density filter in front of the image sensing device in the absences of any visual light for detection of infra-red light illuminated objects. Different filters can be substituted for other illuminating light frequencies.

Filter changing mechanism for a video camera

The invention is directed to an AC power supply for portable welding machines or the like which employ a transformer of either single or multi-phase power wound around a cylindrical core. The core is constructed from a continuous length of steel alloy ribbon. The individual windings of both the primary and secondary are spaced apart. In operation the transformer is submerged in a heat transfer medium to provide cooling thereof by heat transfer therefrom. The transformer may have either a tapped primary or secondary or both to provide secondary amperage for the intended use of the transformer. An external cooling radiator may be employed to provide additional cooling to the heat transfer medium.

The invention is directed to a highly accurate remote positionable pan and tilt mount for a television camera or the like. The pan and tilt portions are rotated by stepping motors. The pan portion can be continuously rotated in either direction through 360.degree..

Pan and tilt mount

A simple, light-weight air-cooled filter arrangement for a narrow band pass filtered light fixture. In lighting fixtures such as infrared energy sources or stage lighting, it is necessary to filter a conventional broad spectrum energy source so that only energy in the desired region is transmitted. These filters which absorb energy in bands other than that being transmitted tend to become very hot. A light fixture is provided having a plurality of spaced filters near a light output end. Each filter has one or more openings offset from the openings in other filters so that no single straight path passes through openings in all filters. A light source is provided adjacent to the filter pack, with a fan positioned on the side of the source opposite the filter pack, with openings in the fixture housing beyond the fan. In operation, the filter pack absorbs energy in all spectral regions other than the band which the pack was designed to pass. The fan draws air in through the filter pack, past the light source and ejects it out through the openings. This fixture is simple, light-weight and cool in operation.
