A fishing lure assembly and the method of making a unique fill composition that causes attractant scent compounds to be dispensed from the fishing lure assembly. The fishing lure assembly has a body that can retain a volume of fill composition. The fill composition contains an ion exchange material and attractant scent compounds that are ionically bonded together. When the fishing lure is submersed in water, the fill composition is exposed to a controlled flow of water. In an ion exchange reaction, ions contained within the water bond to the ion exchange material and thus free the previously bonded attractant scent compounds. The freed attractant scent compounds flow out of the lure assembly with the passing water.

Fishing lure device and associated method of manufacture

A substantially transparent package or preform made of a polymer composition including an aliphatic polyketone as an oxygen scavenger having the formula ##STR1## where n is the number of repeating units and R is hydrogen, an organic side chain, or a silicon side chain. The aliphatic polyketone may be advantageously combined with other thermoplastic polymers to provide the desired injection molding and stretch blow molding characteristics for making substantially amorphous injection molded preforms and substantially transparent biaxially oriented polyester containers. A multilayer container package may be provided having a core layer of the oxygen scavenging composition, and inner and outer layers of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The container may further include layers of a high-oxygen barrier polymer such as ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH). When filled with a liquid product including water, the water vapor from the product may permeate the inner and core layers to facilitate removal and consumption of entrapped oxygen by the core scavenging layer. The aliphatic polyketone provides a highly reactive oxygen scavenger which is made from low-cost monomers and which remains colorless during processing.

Coated abrasive material for fine finishing applications including second fining ophthalmic application, having patterned surface coating of abrasive grains dispersed in radiation-cured adhesive binder. The patterned surface coating is defined by a plurality of formations of such abrasive/binder each having an inner bottom edge defining an area devoid of coated abrasive, a top edge defining a somewhat larger area devoid of coated abrasive and an inner wall connecting the top and bottom edges.

Polyethylene terephthalate molding compositions characterized by rapid crystallization are provided by combining polyethylene terephthalate and a filler or reinforcing agent with a crystallization-rate promoter comprising sodium benzoate and a poly-alpha-olefin such as low density polyethylene. Polyester compositions comprising a blend of poly (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkylene terephthalate) with a diepoxy compound and a multiphase composite polymer are disclosed. The multiphase polymer has a first elastomeric phase polymerized from a monomer system including C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl acrylate as well as crosslinking and graft-linking monomers and a final rigid thermoplastic phase polymerized in the presence of the elastomeric phase.

Molding composition and molded products comprising polybutylene terephthalate containing thermally stable reinforcing fibers, such as glass fibers, having an aspect ratio of at least about 5 and inert filler, such as glass spheres, having an aspect ratio less than about 3. In a preferred embodiment, the composition also includes amorphous, thermally stable resins such as polymethyl methacrylate.
