Use of certain ester derivatives of 1,3-dimethyl-but-3-en-1-yl as perfuming and flavoring ingredients. These ester derivatives possess the following formula ##STR1## wherein symbol R represents a hydrogen atom, a saturated or an unsaturated, linear or branched lower alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or an aryl radical.
