A system and method of distributing electronic content includes a network operations center communicating national feeds to an over-the-air broadcast center through a satellite. The over-the-air broadcast center receives the national feeds from the satellite and broadcasts the national feeds to a user device through a cellular tower wireless transmitter.

Digital over-the-air entertainment system and method for operating the same

A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture provide the ability to broadcast premium video programming. Thus, once premium video programming is received, it is encoded into the vertical blanking interval and unused/non-interfering Active lines found in a typical television broadcast. However, the encoded information is completely transparent to the pre-existing/typical television channel. The resulting encoded content is then broadcast with the typical television broadcast.

Method for delivering cable channels to handheld devices

An integrated plug-in card is configured to process subscription video programming. The card consists of multiple integrated technologies. A micro analog tuner/demodulator receives the subscription video programming and provides output to a vertical blanking interval (VBI) device. The vertical blanking interface device separates an unused portion of the subscription video programming to extract an encoded proprietary programming. Conditional access/decryption technology controls user access to the encoded proprietary programming. Video and audio decompression technology decompresses video and audio data from the encoded proprietary programming. An encoder provides the video and audio data in a desired protocol. A control interface controls video programming properties and a memory is utilized for storing video programming information.

Receiver card technology for a broadcast subscription video service

A system of distributing electronic content has a network operations center generating a broadcast signal having digital electronic content. A communication backbone is coupled to the network operations center. A base station receives the broadcast signal from the backbone. The base station receives the broadcast signal and forms a wireless local area network. The base station rebroadcasts at least a portion of the broadcast signal as a rebroadcast signal using the wireless local network. A user appliance is positioned with said local area network and receives the rebroadcast signal.

Communication system for rebroadcasting electronic content within local area network

A system for distributing electronic content packages has a content provider that has electronic content and a broadcast center. The broadcast center is coupled to the content provider for receiving the electronic content and transmitting a plurality of the electronic to the system users. A user appliance has a filter therein. The appliance is coupled to the broadcast center for receiving the electronic content. The filter filters the plurality of electronic content with predetermined filter terms and accepts one of the plurality of electronic content to form a selected content subset as a function of the filter terms. This process is repeated for the plurality of electronic content.
