Structure of connecting battery terminals to bus bars

A connection structure is between bus bars and relay terminals in an electrical connection box to be mounted on an automobile. Each bus bar is produced by punching an aluminum-based metal plate into a desired circuit configuration. An end of each bus bar is bent so that the end is connected to each respective relay terminal. Each bus bar end is welded to the respective relay terminal. Connection parts between the bus bars and the relay terminals are embedded in a molded insulation. Alternatively, grease is applied to and fills in exteriors and clearances of the connection parts.

Connection structure between bus bars and relay terminals

A bus bar, with a desired circuit configuration contained in an electrical connection box to be mounted on an automobile, has an aluminum-based metal plate punched into a desired circuit configuration to form a flat plate-like circuit body. An L-shaped terminal piece is made from a copper-based metal plate. A horizontal portion of the L-shaped terminal piece is secured to the flat plate-like circuit body by welding a conductive adhesive, riveting, or caulking so that a vertical portion of the terminal piece projects from the circuit body to form a tab.

An electrical cable is used to form an internal circuit in an electrical connection box to be mounted on an automobile. An aluminum-based metal conductor is covered with a heat-resistant resin, such as PE (polyethylene) or PBT (polybutylene terephthalate). The conductor is a single core wire or a twisted core wire, which has a plurality of element wires. The conductor is pushed into an insulation displacement slot in an insulation displacement terminal. The insulation displacement terminal is made from an aluminum-based metal or a copper-based metal. A welding material, made of an iron-based metal, welds a contact portion between the conductor and a blade section on an inner peripheral edge of the insulation displacement slot.

Electrical cable and connection structure between electrical cable and terminal

An electrical conductor assembly contained in an electrical connection box to be mounted on an automobile has a bus bar produced by punching an aluminum-based metal plate into a desired circuit configuration. The bus bar includes an end with a tab formed by bending the end. An intermediate terminal is to be coupled to the tab. The intermediate terminal includes a rectangular parallelepiped box. The box has openings in its opposite ends. The box is made of an iron-based metal plate having an elastic function. A pair of terminal plates oppose each other in the box. Each of the pair of terminal plates, on upper and lower positions, has arcuately bent contact portions. Spring portions are on each of opposed peripheral walls of the rectangular parallelepiped box. The spring portions contact rear surfaces of the contact portions. The tab of the bus bar is inserted into an end opening in the intermediate terminal. The tab is forcedly inserted between the contact portions on one side of the terminal plates.

A protecting device is constructed by detachably mounting a protection plug in a fixed member and connecting a movable circuit in the protection plug and a fixed circuit in the fixed member to supply a power to a load and designed to prevent an arc from being created between input and output terminals when the protection plug is detached to shut a power supply off.

A fixed member is provided with an input terminal to be connected with a battery and an output terminal to be connected with an electric load . A movable member is provided with the first current pass that has connecting terminals and to be connected with the terminal members and respectively in a state where the movable member is attached to the fixed member . The fixed member is provided with the second current pass for connecting the terminals and separately from the first current pass , and terminal protecting contacts and included in the second current pass

An electric connection box comprises a stationary unit and a movable member . The stationary unit is formed integrally with a box body . The movable member is removably attached to the stationary unit . When the movable member is detached from the stationary unit , the power supply from a battery to an electric load is interrupted.

Electric connection box having a protecting function

An electrical conductor assembly adapted to be contained in an electrical connection box to be mounted on an automobile has a bus bar produced by punching an aluminum-based metal plate into a desired circuit configuration. The bus bar has a press contact tab formed by bending an end of the bus bar. A reinforcement tab cover encloses an exterior of the press contact tab. The press contact tab is provided with a press contact slot that extends from a distal end of the tab to a proximal end of the tab. The tab cover is made of an elastic iron-based metal plate. The tab cover has insertion grooves in opposed sidewalls that communicate with the press contact slot in the press contact tab.

An electric connection box includes a cover fitted on a lower side of a body having mounting portions, and the cover is fixedly secured to a vehicle body. A wire harness is extended outwardly from a portion of the body, disposed near to one corner portion thereof, through an escape groove. Plural lock mechanisms, in which a lock piece portion can be elastically fitted into a lock groove, are provided at fitting peripheral surfaces of the body and cover, and are disposed near to four corner portions thereof respectively. One lock mechanism, disposed near to a position where the wire harness is extended outwardly, has a semi-lock structure, and thus has a smaller retaining force than the other lock mechanisms.

An electrical connection box for a vehicle has a low-voltage bus bar and a high voltage bus bar, received in groove structures of a first insulation plate. Each groove structure is defined by a base wall surface on which the bus bar is disposed and a pair of opposed upstanding side wall surfaces. The first insulation plate has a downward recess or through-hole between the groove structures. A second insulation plate superimposed on the first plate has a downward projection received in the recess or through-hole and extending to a lower end which is below the base wall surfaces of the groove structures. The structure inhibits leak currents between the bus bars.

Electrical connection box for a vehicle

An electrical connection box includes a protection apparatus attachment recess. The protection apparatus attachment recess accommodates a power supply breaker apparatus. The power supply breaker apparatus includes a fixed member and a movable member. The fixed member is attached to an box main body. The movable member is attached to the fixed member in an attachable and detachable manner. When the movable member is detached from the fixed member, the power supply breaker apparatus breaks the supply from a battery to an electrical load.

Electrical connection box

An electrical connection box is provided for a vehicle which has a low-voltage battery of maximum output voltage selected from a range of from about 14V to about 28V, and a high-voltage battery of output voltage higher than that of the first battery structure. The electrical connection box has an insulation material of plate-like shape and, embedded in the insulation material, first bus bars connected in use to the first battery and second bus bars connected in use to the second battery so that the first and second bus bars are at different potentials. Connection tabs of the bus bars project out of the insulation material. Risk of leakage currents between the bus bars is thus minimized.

An electrical connection box for a vehicle is to be mounted in an engine compartment and connected to a voltage source of the vehicle having a nominal maximum voltage of not less than 14V. The box has a casing having a rear wall which in use is mounted against an upstanding wall of the vehicle, a front wall and side walls and a bottom wall sloping downwardly. The bottom wall has a water drainage hole at its lowermost portion adjacent said rear wall. Electrical circuit insulation plates are mounted with main faces parallel to the rear wall and bus bars are mounted on said main faces. Electrical relay receiving elements, electrical fuse receiving elements and electrical connector receiving elements are located on at least one of the front and side walls. The arrangement reduces risk of problems due to water ingress.
