A flame-retardant lithium secondary battery is provided that has better battery performance and higher safety than conventional batteries. The lithium secondary battery uses a positive electrode that includes a positive electrode active material of the general formula (1) below, and a nonaqueous electrolytic solution in which an ionic liquid that contains bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anions as an anionic component is used as the solvent, (1) LiNixMnyO, wherein x and y are values that satisfy the relations x+y=2, and x:y=27.572.5 to 22.577.5.

Lithium secondary battery using ionic liquid

An incombustible lithium secondary battery, which has excellent battery capacity and high safety, contains a separator provided between a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolytic solution containing a lithium salt, in which the nonaqueous electrolytic solution employs an ionic liquid as a solvent, and the separator contains an electrically insulating porous inorganic membrane and a substrate. The ionic liquid may contain a bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anion as an anionic component, and may contain a cation containing a nitrogen atom as a cationic component.

Lithium secondary battery

The lithium secondary battery of the present invention is a lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, wherein the non-aqueous electrolyte includes, as a solvent, an ionic liquid containing a bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anion as an anion component; and the separator is a nonwoven fabric comprising at least one member selected from an organic fiber and a glass fiber and has a porosity of 70% or more.

A lithium ion secondary battery capable of charging in 15 minutes or less has a cathode with a composite layer on a surface of a collector having an active material and a conducting agent, an anode with an active material, an insulator between the cathode and anode, and an electrolyte with lithium ions. The cathode active material is represented by LiMPO, where M is a metal atom and 0&#x3c;x&#x3c;2 and the conducting agent contains particles between 3 &#x3bc;m and 12 &#x3bc;m in size and in an amount of 1% or more by weight.

Solid electrolyte

A solid electrolyte is disclosed, which comprises a crosslinked product of an alkylene oxide polymer having a polymerizable double bond at the terminal and/or in the side chain, and an electrolytic salt. In this, the alkylene oxide polymer is thermally crosslinked in the presence of an organic peroxide initiator having an activation energy of at most 35 Kcal/mol and having a half-value period of 10 hours at a temperature not higher than 50&deg; C.

Solid electrolyte and method for producing it

A solid battery using a solid electrolyte obtained by dissolving a tetrafunctional high-molecular compound and an electrolyte salt in a solvent and crosslinking the solution by the irradiation of an actinic radiation and/or by heating, wherein the solid electrolyte is one obtained by using a tetrafunctional terminal acryloyl-modified alkylene oxide polymer having a high-molecular chain represented by following formula (I) as the above-described tetrafunctional high-molecular compound, compounding the solvent with the polymer at a ratio of from 220 to 1,900% by weight to the above-described tetrafunctional high-molecular compound, and crosslinking the compounded mixture:
