In an image forming apparatus, a resistance component of an inner impedance of an electricity removing member is equal to or lower than a value that is obtained by multiplying a calculated resistance value by a first specific value, the calculated resistance value being calculated based on a predetermined formula as a DC resistance value of the electricity removing member that is required to reduce a pre-electricity-removal potential of a photoconductor to a predetermined post-electricity-removal potential during an electricity removal time, the first specific value being calculated based on a ratio of a linear speed of the electricity removing member to a linear speed of the photoconductor, and a resistance component of the contact impedance of the electricity removing member is equal to or lower than a value that is obtained by multiplying the calculated resistance value by a second specific value that is calculated based on the ratio.

Electrophotographic image forming apparatus, and electricity removing member used in image forming apparatus

A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressuring member and a temperature sensing part. The fixing member heated by a heat source contacts with a recording medium to heat a toner image on the recording medium. The pressuring member pressures the recording medium to the fixing member. The temperature sensing part in non-contact with the fixing member includes an infrared sensing element sensing infrared rays from the fixing member and a condensing member condensing the infrared rays to the infrared sensing element. Detection temperature of the fixing member is calculated with a sensing value by the infrared sensing element. The detection temperature or control temperature of the heat source is corrected with temperature deference between the infrared sensing element and the condensing member. Heating of the fixing member is controlled with the corrected detection temperature and the control temperature or the detection temperature and the corrected control temperature.

Fixing device and image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductor and an electricity removing member electrically grounded and disposed to be in contact with a surface of the photoconductor. In the image forming apparatus, with regard to a capacitance component of an inner impedance of the electricity removing member and a capacitance component of a contact impedance of the electricity removing member that are calculated from a Cole-Cole plot obtained from measurement by an AC impedance method in a predetermined frequency range, a value obtained by dividing the capacitance component of the contact impedance by the capacitance component of the inner impedance is equal to or lower than a predetermined first specific value, and the capacitance component of the inner impedance is equal to or lower than a predetermined second specific value.

Electrophotographic image forming apparatus and electricity removing member used in the same

A fixing device includes a cylindrical heat roller, a heating element, a pressure roller, and an auxiliary roller. The heating element is provided inside the heat roller and configured to apply heat to the heat roller. The pressure roller is configured to be pressed against the heat roller to form, with the heat roller, a nip area where a recording paper sheet is to be nipped. The auxiliary roller is provided inside the heat roller and configured to be pressed toward the pressure roller with a peripheral wall of the heat roller in between. An outer peripheral surface of the auxiliary roller pressed against an inner peripheral surface of the heat roller is formed into an inverted crown shape so that an outside diameter of the auxiliary roller gradually decreases from both axial ends of the auxiliary roller toward an axial center thereof.

Fixing device

A fixing device includes a housing, a belt member, a pressure roller, a nip forming member, and a pressing member. The belt member is constituted of a flexible tubular shape. The nip forming member is located at an inner peripheral portion of the belt member. The nip forming member has an opposed surface along an outer peripheral surface of the pressure roller. The nip forming member presses the belt member to the pressure roller. An end portion of the outer peripheral surface of the pressure roller is located inside with respect to an end portion of the belt member. The fixing device includes a pressing member located opposed to the pressure roller in the axial direction. The pressing member presses an outer peripheral surface of the end portion of the belt member in the axial direction to radially inward of the belt member.

A fixing device includes a fixing belt, a pressuring member, a heat source and a reflecting member. The fixing belt is arranged rotatably around a rotation axis. The reflecting member reflects the radiant heat radiated from the heat source. The fixing belt has a passing region and a non-passing region. Through the passing region, a recording medium passes. The non-passing region is arranged outside the passing region in a direction of the rotation axis. The reflecting member has a first reflecting part and a second reflecting part. The first reflecting part is arranged at an inner circumferential side of the passing region. The second reflecting part is arranged at an inner circumferential side of the non-passing region. Roughness of a face at the heat source side of the second reflecting part is larger than roughness of a face at the heat source side of the first reflecting part.

A fixing device includes a fixing belt, a pressuring member, a pressing member and a temperature sensor. The fixing belt is arranged rotatably. The pressuring member is arranged rotatably and configured to come into pressure contact with the fixing belt so as to form a fixing nip. The pressing member is configured to press the fixing belt to the pressuring member side. The temperature sensor is inserted into the pressing member. The pressing member has a through hole penetrating from a face at the fixing nip side to an insertion part of the temperature sensor.

A fixing device includes a fixing belt, a pressuring member, a pressing member and a sheet member. The fixing belt is arranged rotatably and configured to extend along an axis direction. The pressuring member is arranged rotatably and configured to come into pressure contact with the fixing belt so as to form a fixing nip. The pressing member is configured to press the fixing belt to a side of the pressuring member and configured such that the fixing belt is interposed between the pressing member and the pressuring member. The sheet member is formed in a tubular shape and provided around the pressing member and configured to rotate with rotation of the fixing belt.

Fixing device configured to fix a toner image onto a recording medium and image forming apparatus including the same

A transfer bias voltage supplier supplies, to a transfer member, a transfer bias voltage of a polarity opposite to the polarity of toner. The absolute value of transfer bias voltage to be supplied to the transfer member when a leading/trailing end of the sheet is passed through the nip portion is set smaller than when a toner image transfer region of the sheet is passed through the nip portion. A separation bias voltage supplier supplies, to a discharging electrode member, a separation bias voltage of a polarity opposite to the polarity of transfer bias voltage. The absolute value of separation bias voltage to be supplied to the discharging electrode member when the leading/trailing end of the sheet is passed through a discharging gap is set smaller than when the transfer region is passed through the discharging gap.
