The present disclosure relates to an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) system using gravity to deliver fluid from one or more source dialysate bags to the patient as the destination. The present disclosure further relates to a drain container arrangement for receiving and storing spent dialysis effluent from a patient, wherein the drain containers include self-opening valves activated when the containers are arranged together, and the valves are self-sealing when the containers are disconnected from one another.

Automated peritoneal dialysis device

The present disclosure relates to an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) system using gravity to deliver fluid from one or more source dialysate bags to the patient as the destination. The present disclosure further relates to a load cell protection assembly that prevents the load cells associated with the delivery of fluid in the system from experiencing an overload condition in either the down direction or the up direction, while maximizing safety and efficiency of the system while minimizing excess cost and complexity.

An automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) device, system and method is provided, which utilizes mechanisms to admix customized dialysate solutions from multiple sources, while maximizing volumetric accuracy. The present automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) device can accomplish these goals all within the convenience and comfort of the patient's home utilizing filtered tap water.
