The invention relates to a process for combined ethylbenzene reforming and xylene isomerisation comprising contacting a hydrocarbon feedstock containing ethylbenzene and xylene with a catalyst comprising a catalyst carrier and one or more metal(s) supported on the catalyst carrier, wherein the catalyst carrier is an extrudate comprising (i) a ZSM-48 and/or EU-2 type zeolite and (ii) an alumina binder, the extrudate having a shape with a C/A value of at least 3, where C is the circumference of the extrudate and A is the cross-sectional area of the extrudate. The metal may be platinum and the alumina may be a wide-pore alumina. The process displays high conversion rates whilst maintaining low levels of side-product formation.

Isomerisation process

A catalyst system for dewaxing of a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising a mixture of a first dewaxing catalyst composition and a second dewaxing catalyst composition, wherein the first dewaxing catalyst composition is a ZSM-12 zeolite based catalyst composition and the second dewaxing catalyst composition is a EU-2 and/or ZSM-48 zeolite based catalyst composition, and wherein a concentration gradient of the mixture is achieved within a single catalyst bed, such that the concentration of the first dewaxing catalyst is decreasing and the concentration of the second dewaxing catalyst is increasing through the catalyst bed; and a process for dewaxing of a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising contacting the hydrocarbon feedstock with said catalyst system.

Catalyst system for dewaxing

A process for preparing a catalyst composition comprising (a) preparing a carrier comprising (i) mordenite in an amount in the range of from 20 to 80 wt %, based on total weight of carrier, (ii) ZSM-5 type zeolite in an amount in the range of from 10 to 70 wt %, based on total weight of carrier; and (iii) an inorganic binder in an amount in the range of from 10 to 50 wt %, based on total weight of carrier; (b) incorporating in the carrier molybdenum in an amount in the range of from 1 to 10 wt %, as metal based on total weight of catalyst composition, and subjecting the thus treated carrier to a temperature of from 100 to at most 300&#xb0; C. and (c) incorporating in the molybdenum containing carrier obtained in step (b) platinum in an amount of from 0.005 to 1 wt %, as metal based on total weight of catalyst composition, and subjecting the thus treated carrier to a temperature of from 200 to at most 600&#xb0; C.; and a process for conversion of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons containing feedstock using a catalyst prepared by said process. Process for preparing a molybdenum-platinum-based catalyst for the synthesis of benzene by transalkylation

The invention relates to a catalyst composition comprising a) a carrier comprising: (i) of from 5 to 95 wt % of CON type zeolite, (ii) of from 5 to 95 wt % of ZSM-5 type zeolite; and (iii) of from 10 to 60 wt % of inorganic binder; and b) of from 0.001 to 10 wt % one or more metals selected from the group consisting of Group 6-11 of the IUPAC Periodic Table of Elements. The invention further relates to a process for preparing the catalyst composition and to a process for the conversion of an alkylaromatic hydrocarbons containing feedstock using a catalyst prepared by the present process.
