A first electronic device can establish a communication channel with a second electronic device and receive a second signed log head of an identifier log via the communication channel. The identifier log is managed by a key transparency server and can include public keys of users registered with the server and user identifiers. The second signed log head includes a hash of the public keys and the user identifiers in the identifier log. The second signed log head can be provided to the second device by the server. In response to sending a request for a consistency-checked log head from the server, the device can receive at least one consistency-checked signed log head. The device can verify a consistency between the second signed log head and the at least one consistency-checked log head. If verified the device can maintain use of the server for verifying ownership of the keys.

Techniques for peer-to-peer key verification

A method to provide additional gaming network functionality links a user's gaming network identity with the user's social network identity. Linkage of the user's gaming network and social network identities establishes a two way communication link by which a gaming (social) network service can obtain information from, and send information to, a social (gaming) network service on behalf of the user. The gaming (social) network service may obtain information regarding the social (gaming) network relationships of the user's social (gaming) network identity and suggest gaming (social) network relationships to the user based on the social (gaming) network relationships. The gaming (social) network service additionally enables a user having linked identities to post gaming (social) network related messages as social (gaming) network messages via their social (gaming) network identity.

Utilizing a social network account to provide additional functionality to a gaming network account

A system and method are described for initiating a turn-based game before the entire set of users to participate in the turn-based game have been identified. For example, a first user may initiate a turn-based game having a plurality of slots. In response, the first user is assigned to a first slot in the plurality of slots and the first user is allowed to take a turn in the turn-based game in the first slot before all of the other plurality of slots have been assigned to other users. One or more additional users are then matched to the first user based on a specified set of matching criteria and the new users are assigned to one or more additional slots in the plurality of slots. The additional users then take turns in the turn-based game according to their slots.

System and method for implementing turn-based online games

A client computing device registers an email address as an identifier for online communication sessions. An email validation request message is received from the client computing device to validate an email address that includes the email address and an online communication session profile identifier that identifies an online communication session profile of a user of the client computing device. Responsive to determining that the email address has been validated, an email validated success message is sent to the client computing device. An activated email address request message is received from the client computing device that includes the email address and the online communication session profile identifier. The email address is then activated as an identifier associated with the online communication session profile to be used for online communication sessions.
