Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a network node in a telecommunication network providing a multicast transmission to a group of devices residing in a cell of the telecommunication network. The network node monitors a congestion level for communication, and, if the congestion level reaches a first threshold, the network node orders for at least one device in a RRC connected mode to be released from the RRC connected mode to an RRC idle mode or an RRC inactive mode, thereby disabling a capability of the at least one device to provide one or more re-transmission requests while keeping an ability of the at least one device to further receive the multicast transmission.

Network node, device and methods in a telecommunication network

Methods and apparatuses provide a mechanism to account for timing errors of a wireless device () in positioning measurements. In one example, a wireless device () performs reference-signal transmissions or measurements and sends information to a network node () that is involved in positioning of the wireless device (). The information indicates associations of the reference-signal transmissions or measurements with respective timing groups of the wireless device (). Each timing group represents a related set of transmission or reception timing errors within the wireless device (). Based on the information, the network node () accounts for the different timing-group associations when performing positioning calculations that are based on the reference-signal transmissions or measurements performed by the wireless device ().

Methods and apparatuses to account for timing errors of a user equipment in positioning measurements

A method in a network node and a network is provided to determine line of sight, LOS, base stations for a user equipment (UE) is provided. A request is provided to at least one of the UE and a plurality of base stations to measure and report LOS detection measurements, wherein the plurality of base stations includes base stations of a serving cell of the UE. The LOS detection measurements are received from the at least one of the UE and the plurality of base stations. LOS base stations for the UE are determined based on the LOS detection measurements. An indication of the LOS base stations is transmitted to the UE.

Line of sight detection based on channel impulse response reported

A method performed by a first base station for positioning in a cellular communication system includes receiving, at the first base station, a signal transmitted by a second base station and estimating a Time of Arrival (TOA) of the received signal at the first base station according to a clock of the first base station. The method further includes determining a delta value that is a function of an amount of time between the TOA of the received signal at the first base station and a time reference at the first base station and performing either, (a) providing the delta value to a positioning estimation entity within the cellular communications system or (b) using the delta value at the first base station to reduce a time synchronization error between the first base station and the second base station, or (c) passing the delta value to a User Equipment (UE).

Rx-tx time difference generation, measurement and reporting with neighboring base stations

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for hybrid ARQ (HARQ) feedback in relation to multicast transmissions from a network node in a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include receiving, from the network node, first downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a first multicast transmission associated with the UE and determining a HARQ feedback mode for the first multicast transmission. Such methods also include, based on the first DCI, attempting to decode the first multicast transmission; and selectively transmitting HARQ feedback related to the first multicast transmission to the network node based on the determined HARQ feedback mode and on whether the attempt to decode is successful or unsuccessful. Embodiments also include complementary methods for a network node, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) mechanism for multicast in NR

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for providing adaptive service areas for multicast session continuity. Embodiments of a method performed by a radio access node in a Radio Access Network (RAN) are disclosed. Such embodiments introduce mobility of User Equipments (UEs) participating in a multicast/broadcast service, which is managed by the RAN. This means that the broadcast area will dynamically adapt as participating UEs move and/or radio conditions change.

Adaptive service areas for multicast session continuity

There is disclosed a method of operating a network node in a radio access network, the method including transmitting reference signaling based on a reference signaling configuration, the reference signaling configuration corresponding to a comb-n structure for a symbol group of a slot, wherein the reference signaling configuration corresponds to a staggered and/or re-ordered comb-n structure for one or more other symbol groups of the slot. A method performed by a user equipment, UE includes obtaining a Sounding Reference Signal, SRS, configuration from a network node and determining an SRS waveform and transmitting the SRS waveform. The SRS waveform is adapted for positioning based on the SRS configuration to have a full bandwidth within a bandwidth applicable for the SRS waveform.

A method, network node and wireless device for position reference signal (PRS) design by extending a base signal are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method in a wireless device (WD) includes obtaining extended reference signal, RS, configurations from the network node. The method also includes determining a waveform associated with the extended RS. The method also includes detecting a RS and estimate an associated time of arrival. The method further includes sending a measurement report to the network node based on the estimated time of arrival.

PRS design by extending the basic signal

The disclosure relates to an OTDOA positioning technique wherein different base stations transmit different variations of the same basic PRS or other positioning signal synchronously as an SFN signal to effect an observed time shift at the UE between the different variations of the basic PRS signal or positioning signal. This added time shift resulting from the transmission of different variations by different base stations effectively spreads the corresponding channel impulses in the CIR of the SFN signal in the time domain so that the UE is better able to detect and discriminate between different instances of the positioning signal transmitted from different base stations.

Position determination using time difference of arrival of single frequency network signals

A Digital Video Broadcasting system comprises a service provider generating first digitally coded information; a broadcast network provider receiving the first digitally coded information, said broadcast network provider includes a protocol stack having an MPEG2 TS layer below an IP layer; and encapsulates digitally coded information into MPEG-2 TS packages, and an FEC layer between the IP layer and the MPEG-2 TS layer. The broadcast network provider calculates FEC parity information and generates second digitally coded information comprising the first digitally coded information and the FEC parity information; and including an application data table containing IP datagrams that are extractable without use of said FEC parity information. The receiving unit extracts FEC parity information from the received digitally coded information. Detection of a unit of information that may contain erroneous information so that it is non-identical to the first digitally coded information is thereby effected.
