An airbag system () for a powered saddle-ride type vehicle () is provided. The system comprises a housing (): an airbag () arranged in said housing (); and an inflator (). The housing () is elongated and is configured to face the driver, and the housing () is configured to be fixedly mounted to a leg shield () next to the steering column () of the vehicle () in an area between handlebars () of the vehicle and a foot support () of the vehicle. The elongated housing () is configured to be mounted in a substantially horizontal direction, transverse to a longitudinally extending centreline (CL) of the vehicle (). The inflator () is configured to allow the airbag (), in the event of an activation signal, to inflate and deploy symmetrically on opposite sides of the longitudinally extending centreline (CL) of the vehicle () to thereby fill an available space between the vehicle and the driver's pelvis, abdomen, thorax and head area. Further, a powered saddle-ride type vehicle is provided.

A pedestrian protection device for a motor vehicle having a windscreen and an A-pillar extending adjacent a side edge of the windscreen. The protection device comprises a base member securable to the A-pillar of the motor vehicle, and a trim member moveable relative to the base member. A deployment mechanism is operable upon actuation of the device to drive the trim member away from the base member from an initial position in which the trim member is proximal to the base member, to a deployed position in which the trim member is spaced from the base member. The deployment mechanism comprises a plastically deformable member interconnecting the base member and the trim member and which is arranged, in said deployed position of the trim member, to absorb impact energy arising from impact between a pedestrian and the trim member in compression.

The invention relates to a belt retractor for a seat belt of a motor vehicle, comprising a belt shaft which is rotatably mounted in a housing frame, a profiled head which can be locked relative to the housing frame, and a force-limiting device, wherein the force-limiting device is coupled on the one hand to the profiled head and on the other hand to the belt shaft and wherein the force-limiting device allows a force-limited rotation of the belt shaft relative to the locked profiled head, characterized by an actively releasable decoupling device.

Adjustable-height seat device

A vehicle braking arrangement includes a braking plate connected to a vehicle by a link arm. The braking plate is movable from a rest position to a braking position where contact is made with the ground, and includes a sealing rim arranged to at least partially contact the ground such that an at least partly enclosed volume is formed. The vehicle braking arrangement includes an expandable chamber formed between a lower plate, at least one connecting side wall and an upper plate, which chamber is connectable to the volume. Upon activation, the chamber's volume is expanded by movement of the lower plate away from the upper plate. Then the pressure is lowered in the volume which results in that the braking plate is pressed against the ground. In this way, a retaining force is obtained.

Vehicle low pressure brake arrangement

A vehicle braking arrangement includes a braking plate and a link arm arranged to connect the braking plate to a vehicle. The braking plate is movable from a rest position to a braking position where contact is made with the ground. The braking plate is arranged for a first mode of operation, corresponding to the rest position, and a second mode of operation, corresponding to the braking position. In the first mode of operation, the braking plate has a first contact area arranged to face the ground, and in the second mode of operation, the braking plate has a second contact area arranged to face the ground. The second area exceeds the first area.

A vehicle braking arrangement includes a braking plate connected to a vehicle by a link arrangement. The braking plate is movable from a rest position to a braking position where contact is made with the ground, and includes a sealing rim arranged to at least partially contact the ground such that an at least partly enclosed volume is formed. The vehicle braking arrangement includes a low pressure container connected to the volume via a valve assembly. Air pressure in the low pressure container is below the air pressure of ambient air in the rest position of the braking plate. The valve assembly is arranged to be opened when the braking plate is in the braking position such that the pressure is lowered in the volume and the braking plate is pressed against the ground by a conferred pressure difference between air outside the volume and air in the volume.

A vehicle seat belt retractor with a belt shaft () and a coupled profile head lockable to a housing. A force-limiting device has at least two elements () between profile head and belt shaft (). Free ends () of the force-limiting elements () are coupled to each other by a connecting tube () via a coupling element (). The coupling element () has a hook-shaped spring element with a locking hook () which slides over the connecting tube () when the belt shaft () rotates and engages in a locking groove () to couple the connecting tube () to the belt shaft (). At a preset angle of rotation of the belt shaft () is reached, the bridging device releases the coupling element () for the locking hook () to latch into the connecting tube locking groove ().

Belt retractor with a switchable force-limiting device

The invention relates to a belt tensioner with a belt shaft (), a force limitation arrangement () connected with the belt shaft (), and a tensioner drive wheel () coupled with the belt shaft () so as to be locked against relative rotation, in which a retaining element () is provided for coupling the tensioner drive wheel () to the belt shaft (), and the retaining element () is releasable by the rotation of the belt shaft () in the belt webbing withdrawal direction after the tensioning movement has been completed.

Seat belt pretensioner

A pedestrian airbag arrangement for a vehicle includes an airbag covering at least a part of the windscreen and/or at least a part of at least one A-pillar of the vehicle when it is in deployed state, an inflator in fluid connection to the airbag, and a retraction means for retracting the airbag. The retraction means includes a triggering means and a retractor retracting the airbag when released by the triggering means. In order to provide an automatic retraction of the airbag, the triggering means is activated by the airbag.

A seat belt tensioner for motor vehicle, having a belt shaft () rotatably supported in housing as a carrier of a seat belt wound thereon and with a tensioner drive coupled thereto by a metal strip (), the drive rotatable driving the belt shaft () when triggered by action on the metal strip () and the movement thereof, the metal band () before triggering the tensioning drive () surrounds an extension () of the belt shaft. The metal strip () is wound around the extension () of the belt shaft () in at least one winding turn serving as winding supply () for the movement thereof. The winding reserve () is held at a radial gap () to the extension () of the belt shaft () by a holding element () releasing the metal band () in case of tensile force acting on the metal strip caused by activation of the belt tensioner causing the metal stripto engage and rotate the belt shaft extension.
