The present invention relates to a locking mechanism or tool adapted for connection to a remotely operated vehicle and adapted for at least one of the group consisting of connection and disconnection of two plates. The present invention also concerns a system adapted for at least one of the group consisting of connection and disconnection of two plates, where the system comprises said locking mechanism or tool.

Locking mechanism tool and system

The invention relates to a hydraulic coupler. The coupler comprises a male and female coupling, each with a poppet valve moveably supported by an inner surface of a main body of the coupling. Each coupling further comprises a movable connector part in its front end with a spherical rear surface accommodating a spherical connector seat in the main body, where the connector is provided with sealing means between the connector part and the main body of the coupling.

An electrical penetrator assembly is shown, configured to feed electrical voltage and current through a wall separating a first volume and a second volume, which may have different pressure and/or may be filled with different fluids. The connector comprises a wall or partition having a through opening. An electrical conductor surrounded by a tubular insulator body passes the opening through the wall. A conductive or semi-conductive coating is arranged on the exterior of the insulator body, the coating surrounding the insulator body for a portion of its length, the coating in electrical contact with the wall, wherein the coated portion of the insulator body is shaped to displace the electric field around the conductor away from the wall and reduce the electric field strength around the insulator body by increasing the electric field strength inside the insulator body.

A sealing element that includes a hollow body of metallic material and first and second male sealing members formed at a respective end of the body. The respective male sealing member has an external spherical contact surface designed for mating with a corresponding internal conical contact surface of a female sealing member so as to form a fluid-tight seal between the male sealing member and the female sealing member when their contact surfaces are pressed against each other. The first and second housing parts in connected mode define a seat for accommodation of a bushing including a conductor pin arranged in an insulator body. The first and second housing parts each have a part-spherical seat surface supporting a corresponding region of the bushing. The bushing includes a material of relatively high compressive strength, in the form of a polymeric material or a ceramic material, that is molded into spherical outer shape about a bulbous portion of the conductor pin, and clamped as a unitary form-fitting element in the seat upon connection of the first and second housing parts.

The invention relates to a coupling device including a coupling part provided with a coupling member and having an internal bore extending through the coupling part and its coupling member, wherein the coupling part is provided with a valve, which includes a valve body displaceably arranged inside the internal bore and a spring member acting on the valve body, the valve body being displaceable against the action of the spring member from a first position to a second position. The valve includes a housing fixed inside the internal bore, the housing being provided with a cavity accommodating the spring member and a part of the valve body. The cavity is in fluid communication with an orifice at the end of the valve facing the free end of the coupling member so as to allow the cavity to be in fluid communication with the surroundings via the orifice when the coupling member is out of engagement with a corresponding coupling member.
