A separator system for treating a gas from a biomass gasification system, including: first and second cyclones, where the first cyclone includes an inlet for receiving a gas from a biomass gasification unit, the first cyclone being arranged for removing particulate matter from the gas from the biomass gasification unit in order to provide a first cleaner gas, piping arranged to lead the first cleaner gas to the second cyclone, where the second cyclone is arranged to remove particulate matter from the first cleaner gas in order to provide a second cleaner gas, a pipe arranged to lead the second cleaner gas to a special piping element, the latter including a burner, thereby providing a third cleaned gas, and a gas distribution unit arranged to lead the third cleaned gas to one or more tar reformer units. Also, a method of treating a gas from a biomass gasification system.

Process and reaction unit for isothermal shift conversion of a carbon monoxide containing feed gas, the process comprising the steps of introducing the feed gas in a reaction unit into reactor tubes with a fixed bed of a shift conversion catalyst in a reaction zone; contacting the feed gas with the catalyst at conditions being effective in carbon monoxide shift conversion reaction with steam reactant to hydrogen and cooling the reaction by indirect heat exchange with a cooling agent by passing the cooling agent in a falling film along shell side of the reactor tubes and removing heated cooling agent from the falling film; passing hydrogen when it is formed by the shift conversion reaction through a hydrogen selective membrane to a permeate zone; withdrawing hydrogen from the permeate zone and carbon monoxide depleted feed gas from the reaction zone.

Carbon monoxide conversion process and reactor

A process and reaction unit for isothermal shift conversion of a carbon monoxide containing feed gas. A reactor for carrying out endothermic catalytic reaction is provided. The reactor features a metallic ingot with at least one tubular reaction passage extending through the ingot. The reaction passage is adapted to hold a catalyst for endothermic conversion of a feedstock. Provided are inlet passages for introduction of the feedstock into the reaction passage, and outlet passages for withdrawing feedstock. The inlet and outlet passages are provided within the ingot. An electrical heater supplies to the ingot and the reaction passage the heat for the catalytic endothermic conversion of the feedstock.
