A coated granule including a core. The core includes a uniform mixture of a detergent enzyme having an alkaline pH activity optimum, and an acidic buffer component. The acidic buffer component has a pH of 1 to below 7 when measured as a 10% aqueous solution with a pKa in the range of 4 to 9.

Stabilization of granules

The present invention relates to granules comprising a core matrix and one or more coatings, wherein the core matrix comprises: An active compound, a synthetic polymer, where the amount of polymer added is 0.1 to 10% by weight of the matrix and one or more antioxidants and/or reducing agents, where the amount of antioxidant and/or reducing agent is 0.2 to 5% by weight of the matrix.

The present invention relates to enzyme-containing granules comprising (a) an enzyme and (b) a core which intrinsically is capable of absorbing at least 5% w/w (based on the weight of the core) of water and to processes for the production of such granules comprises (a) contacting absorbent cores, capable of absorbing at least 5% w/w (based on the weight of the core) of water, with a liquid medium, such as an aqueous medium, containing an enzyme in dissolved and/or dispersed form, the amount of the liquid medium employed being such that substantially no attendant agglomeration of the resulting product occurs; and (b) at least partially removing volatile components of the liquid medium from the resulting product.

Enzyme-containing granules and process for the production thereof

The detergent additive granulate is a coated co-granulate containing at least one enzyme and at least one photobleaching agent. If a detergent, a component of which is such detergent additive granulate, is used for laundering, the photobleaching agent will not tend to adhere selectively to the laundry during the initial washing process.

An enzyme granulation process wherein an enzyme solution or suspension, filler, binder and cellulose or artificial fibres are granulated with fines and oversize particles of the granulate product particle the process being characterized by recirculation of fines without grinding, by grinding oversize particles then recirculation thereof, with the recirculated particles as a whole exhibiting a cumulative size distribution of the same general shape as the cumulative size distribution of the granulate product particles.

Method for production of an enzyme granulate

Enzyme containing granulates containing less than 2% chloride and besides enzyme, coating materials, granulating aids and water, more than 35% w/w of a filler system consisting of from 5-70% w/w of the granulate composition of one or more water soluble sulphates, and 5-70% w/w water insoluble salts, especially sulphates, carbonates, phosphates or silicates. The granulates exhibit an excellent storage stability and a satisfactory physical strength.

Enzyme containing granulates useful as detergent additives

Immobilized enzyme granules prepared by mixing inert filler particles into an aqueous solution or dispersion of a water soluble binder, followed by granulating the mixture so as to form carrier granules. Enzyme is immobilized on the hydrophilic surfaces of the carrier granules. If not already insoluble in the medium for the intended enzymatic reaction, the binder in the granules is rendered insoluble, e.g., water insoluble. Proteins are preferred binder materials, and glutaraldehyde is the preferred reagent for bonding enzyme to the carrier granules and for water insolubilizing the binder.

Carrier for immobilizing enzymes

Improved formation of enzyme granulates through inclusion within the composition of finely divided cellulose fibres. Optionally a waxy substance can be employed for the granulating agent, or to coat the granulate.
