Described herein is a node of a telecommunications network configured to determine that a primary index for data repositories of the telecommunications network is operating in a fail-open mode and, in response, provide a request received by the node to substantially all data repositories referred to by the primary index. The node is further configured to receive a response from one of the data repositories and, based at least in part on the response, build a secondary index mapping data repositories to subscriber identifiers. When a further request is received by the node in fail-open mode, the node may refer to the secondary index first and, if the subscriber identifier from the further request is not present in the secondary index, provide the further request to substantially all data repositories referred to by the primary index.

Fail-open operation for data repository indices

A method for relaying an ORREQ (origination request) message from an MSC (mobile switching center) to a service specific SCP (service control point) using an HLR (home location register) first receives the ORREQ message including a service trigger indication at the HLR. A service trigger and an identifier for the subscriber are determined from the service trigger indication within the ORREQ message. A subscriber profile within the HLR is accessed responsive to the determined identifier to identify active services for the subscriber. The service specific SCP to provide the particular service associated with the service trigger of a plurality of available service specific SCPs is determined responsive to the service trigger and the active services for the subscriber. An address of the specific SCP is determined by accessing mapping logic and the ORREQ message is transmitted from the HLR to the determined service specific SCP.

System and method for relaying an origination request from a home location register to a service specific service control point

A roaming partner selection system associated with a mobile device includes a preferred roaming list providing a plurality roaming partner networks that may provide a network connection to the mobile device when a home network may not be selected. At least one rule set controls the selection of one of a roaming partner network from the preferred provider list or a home network for establishing a connection with mobile device. Control logic controls a selection of at least one of the roaming partner network from the home network responsive to the at least one rule set and at least one predetermined input parameter. The at least one rule set establishes which of the at least one of the plurality of roaming partner networks or the home network should be selected by the control logic responsive to the at least one predetermined parameter.

A method for selectively blocking Voiceover4G services within a wireless communications network is provided. A request for access to Voiceover4G services is received from a device connected to a wireless communications network. A location of the device is determined from information contained within the request. A determination is made of whether Voiceover4G services are provided at the location by the wireless communications network at the location of the device indicated within the request. The device is configured to communicate over the wireless network using Voiceover4G services responsive to a determination that the Voiceover4G services are provided at the location of the device or is configured to communicate over the wireless network using circuit switched services responsive to a determination that the Voiceover4G services are not provided at the location of the device.

System and method for providing selective voiceover4g call blocking

A method for relaying a call message requiring a particular service from an MSC to a service logic unit, involves the steps of receiving a service request trigger to provide a particular service at the MSC from a subscriber. The call message requiring a particular service is transmitted from the MSC to an HLR. The HLR determines the service logic unit to provide the particular service responsive to at least one of the call message requiring a particular service, a trigger indication and a subscriber profile associated with the subscriber. The call message requiring a particular service is transmitted from the HLR to the determined service logic unit.

A method for selectively establishing a voice call continuity link between a mobile device and a voice call continuity application server includes the steps of receiving a request to establish a voice over IP call connection at the voice call continuity application server from the mobile device, the request including mobile device location information for the mobile device. The method determines at the voice call continuity application server whether the voice call continuity link is needed between the voice call continuity server and the mobile device responsive to the mobile device location information within the request and network location information stored within a database associated with the voice call continuity application server. The method establishes the voice call continuity link between the mobile device and the voice call continuity application responsive to a determination that the voice call continuity link is needed.

The handoff data is transmitted from the handoff server of the system network provider to the client of the mobile device.

A method for managing services for a network service provider includes the steps of receiving a Feature Request Message from a switching node associated with a mobile station within a non-circuit switched network at a registration node. The Feature Request Message includes a code for activating a feature within the registration node enabling connections to the non-circuit switched network. A service request is received for providing a network service to the mobile station at the registration node. The service request is routed to the switching node associated with the non-circuit switched network responsive to the feature within the registration node enabling connection to the non-circuit switched network being activated.

System and method for HLR support for IP-MSC feature activation

A method and system for managing services for a mobile station by a network service provider includes receiving a first registration request associated with the mobile station at a registration node, registering a first switching node as a first serving node for access by the mobile station to a first network, receiving a second registration request associated with the mobile station at the registration node, and registering a second switching node as a second serving node for access by the mobile station to a second network. The first serving node and the second serving node are concurrently maintained. The method further includes receiving a service request for providing a network service to the mobile station, and routing the service request to either the first switching node or the second switching node in accordance with routing rules associated with the mobile station configured by the network service provider.
