When presenting information to a user via a display, an animated timeline () is provided on which a user selects a tick mark () representing a time on the timeline (), to view data collected at that time. A time window () of a predetermined width (e.g., an hour) is centered on the selected tick mark (), and the timeline () is then animated as it shifts the selected tick mark () to the center of the timeline (). Data (e.g., images, measured parameters, etc.) corresponding to the time window is identified (e.g., via timestamp information) and presented to the user on a display along with the timeline ().

Animated timeline

Medical monitor readings () are displayed along with an indication of along with the age of the reading. The reading display is changed by altering the intensity of the reading value (-), color of the reading value (-), a subscript next to the reading (), a shape of the background (-), or icon (FIGS.-) to indicate the age of a presented reading.
