A device is provided for collection of gases in molten metals, the device having an immersion end with a gas collection body, a gas supply line opening at the immersion end, and a gas discharge line for gases penetrating the gas collection body. The gas collection body is impermeable to molten metal and has an end face arranged on the immersion end and side walls of the collection body. At least a portion of the gas collection body has a gas impermeable layer arranged on a surface of the side walls of the gas collection body. A measurement method is also provided using the device.

Device for collecting gases in molten metal and measurement method

A device is provided for collection of gases in molten metals, the device having an immersion end with a gas collection body, a gas supply line opening at the immersion end, and a gas discharge line for gases penetrating the gas collection body. The gas collection body has an end face arranged on the immersion end and side walls of the collection body, and at least one part of the gas collection body has a gas impermeable layer. A measurement method is also provided using the device.

A device is provided for measuring the gas content in a molten metal, the device including an immersion end having a gas-collecting body, a gas supply line opening on the immersion end, and a gas discharge line for the gases passing through the gas-collecting body. The gas-collecting body contains materials, which in contact with the molten metal do not form liquid reaction products.

Device for measuring the gas content in a molten metal

An immersion measuring probe, particularly a drop-in measuring probe for metal melts, is provided having a measuring head, on which at least one sensor carrier having at least one sensor is arranged. The sensor carrier is held at or in an opening in the measuring head. At least a part of the measuring head is in electrical contact with a counter electrode of an electrochemical sensor arranged on the measuring head and forming a bath contact for the electrochemical sensor.

Immersion measuring probe, particularly a drop-in-measuring probe

An apparatus for the measurement of the surface tension of liquids by means of a capillary tube for supplying gas, the tube having a connector and a nozzle, may be used in a measuring device. In order to create an apparatus that is easy to manufacture and handle, and that can be used reliably in a variety of liquids, the capillary tube is arranged, at least partially, in a crucible for receiving the liquid and is mounted on the wall of the crucible, whereby the connector is arranged outside the interior of the crucible. The connector is connected to the gas line of the measuring device and to a pressure sensor and/or a flow meter.
