Described herein is a method of determining a current location speed limit in a road vehicle () speed limit information system (). The method comprises receiving (): one or more signals corresponding to respective candidate speed limits (); and one or more signals related to observed vehicle dynamics affecting changes () in one or more vehicles () pre and post a most recently passed anticipated speed limit change location (). It further comprises evaluating () the confidence of the different candidate speed limits () based on the signals related to observed vehicle dynamics affecting changes () and validating () or discarding () candidate speed limits () based on the evaluated confidences. A signal () corresponding to a highest confidence validated speed limit is output.

Method and arrangement for validating speed limit information for a road vehicle

A system and method relate to adapting traffic light assist applications of connected road vehicles to queue lengths at intersections having connected traffic lights. Each vehicle is arranged to: communicate to back-end logic a position thereof; and determine, using sensor data from sensors thereof, if a vehicle is located within, or if it is the last vehicle (V) in the queue (). If the vehicle is in the que, the length (l) of the queue () from that vehicle () up to the traffic light () is determined. If the vehicle is the last vehicle (V) in the queue, traffic light assist applications of vehicles approaching that traffic light are adapted to the determined length (l) of the entire queue.

Arrangement and method for providing adaptation to queue length for traffic light assist-applications

A system and method are described for predicting road friction using data from a fleet of connected vehicles. Each fleet vehicle includes a communication arrangement for reporting, to a back end system, floating car data sets, including a position of the vehicle, time data and data regarding determined road friction influencing parameters and a determined road friction associated with that position. The data sets are collected and aggregated in a central database, over a predetermined time period. A neural network computer is trained and validated, using aggregated data sets, to create a model to predict future road friction for a specific road network position or segment associated with that specific position. Once trained and validated, the neural network computer, upon receiving the same type of new, up to date, input data, uses the model to predict future road friction for that specific position or segment of the road network.

Arrangement and method for predicting road friction within a road network

An information sharing system derives from a roadway vehicles management system position-related data of a roadway vehicle along a road and determines a roadway vehicle timing at or during which the roadway vehicle is estimated to arrive at or cross a railway crossing. The information sharing system further derives from a railway vehicles management system position-related data of a railway vehicle along the railway and determines a railway vehicle timing at or during which the railway vehicle is estimated to arrive at or have passed the railway crossing. The information sharing system determines, based on comparing a roadway vehicle time window to a railway vehicle time window, that the roadway vehicle time window and the railway vehicle time window at least partly overlap. The information sharing system provides information associated with the overlap to the roadway vehicle or the railway vehicle.

The present disclosure relates to a method for determining a road work area characteristic set comprising at least one characteristic associated with a road work area. A method is described for performing a real time analysis of traffic flow control device related data using a plurality of vehicles connected in at least one vehicle cell network. The method compares position data from vehicles defining a traffic flow with received data for a traffic flow control device and geometry and topology data concerning a transport engineering construction related to the traffic flow control device to evaluate if a discrepancy can be detected between the geometry and topology data concerning the transport engineering construction and the traffic flow defined by the vehicles positions. The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a hazard reporting system for enabling a vehicle occupant to, in an un-distractive and dynamic manner, report a hazard associated with the surroundings of a vehicle. The hazard reporting system receives a verbal hazard report from the vehicle occupant, which verbal hazard report comprises information related to a hazard associated with the surroundings of the vehicle. The hazard reporting system further transforms, with support from a speech recognition service, the verbal hazard report into a resulting machine-readable hazard report. Method and system for enabling a vehicle occupant to report a hazard associated with the surroundings of the vehicle

A method and system for selecting a subset of cloud stored data related to locations within a road network and sending it to a vehicle. A current position of the vehicle is determined. A most probable path of the vehicle is determined as a set of possible paths ahead of the vehicle that the vehicle is most probable to travel along, and a subset of data is selected related to a location that is along this most probable path. Alternatively, a respective inverse most probable path up to each respective location related to a respective subset of data is determined as a respective set of possible paths leading up to each respective location. If the current position of the vehicle is included in an inverse most probable path, the related subset of data selected. The selected subset of data is sent to the vehicle.

Low latency method and system for sending cloud data to a vehicle

A method performed by a network node for estimating a relative tire friction performance of a number of vehicles is disclosed. The network node and a communication unit may be located in each vehicle and may be part of a communications network. The method may include receiving continuously tire-to-road friction values and corresponding VSPs (Vehicle State Parameters) from each communication unit. Each VSP may include the geographical location and time at which tire-to-road friction value is measured. The method may further include determining that a tire-to-road friction value of a first vehicle is comparative to the tire-to-road friction value of a second vehicle. The method may also include comparing the tire-to-road friction value of the first vehicle to the tire-to-road friction value of the second vehicle, and determining a ranking of the relative tire friction performance of the first vehicle in relation to the second vehicle based on the comparison.

Disclosed herein is a method and system for minimizing the required bandwidth for a cloud based unicast communication with a vehicle operating within a road network, where the cloud comprises a cloud logic and the vehicle comprises a vehicle internal logic. The method comprising the steps of: determining a current position with direction of the vehicle within the road network; setting an interval at which the vehicle is to report an update on its position based on a most probable path of the vehicle and the complexity thereof, where the most probable path is a set of possible paths a predetermined distance ahead of the vehicle that it is most probable to travel along given its current position with direction within the road network; communicating the set interval to the vehicle internal logic; and reporting an updated current position of the vehicle to the cloud with the set reporting interval.

A vehicle, a vehicle system and a method for allowing a host vehicle to autonomously avoid road irregularities are provided. The system communicates vehicle sensor data relating to detected road irregularities and host vehicle position information with an external database. A processor is arranged to determine a trajectory for the host vehicle for which all wheels of the host vehicle are laterally displaced from one or more road irregularities ahead of the host vehicle, and to autonomously steer the host vehicle along the determined trajectory. The system is also arranged to evaluate whether all wheels of the host vehicle were laterally displaced from all detected road irregularities and to send the result of the evaluation to the external database.
