The invention relates to a head-worn audio device having a first earcup, a second earcup, and a headband extending between the first earcup and the second earcup. The headband includes a spring member disposed along a longitudinal axis of the headband. The spring member has a first end and a second end. The headband also includes a first headband tube coupled to the first earcup and the first end of the spring member. Further, the headband includes a second headband tube coupled to the second earcup and the second end of the spring member. The first headband tube is configured to rotate around the first end of the spring member, and the second headband tube is configured to rotate around the second end of the spring member.

Seamless pivot for head-worn audio devices

A headset system for interchangeable wearing styles is disclosed. A retention element is detachably coupled to an earpiece, allowing the headset to interchange between a headband, ear loop and neckband wearing style. The retention element comprises a security element that prevents rotation of the earpiece when coupled, providing a stable and ergonomic wearing experience.

The invention relates to a seamless pivot for a head-worn audio device. The seamless pivot includes a headband tube for interconnecting an earcup and a headband. The headband tube includes a channel extending from a top surface of the headband tube to an internal detent and an internal cavity of the headband tube. The seamless pivot also includes a spring member. A portion of the spring member is disposed within the channel of the headband tube and configured to allow rotation of the headband tube relative to the portion of the spring member. An end of the spring member terminates within at least one of the internal detent and the internal cavity of the headband tube. A range of the rotation of the headband tube, relative to the portion of the spring member within the channel, is limited by the internal detent of the headband tube.

Methods and apparatuses for headbands and headphones are disclosed. In one example, a headband includes an outer band and an inner band. The inner band includes an inner band left arm, an inner band right arm, and an elastic material coupled between the inner band left arm and the inner band right arm.

A kit and a method which is used to convert a non-cycling shoe into a cycling shoe which is capable of attaching a cycling cleat. The kit includes a device, fasteners, a template and instructions. The device is a contoured plate which has the appropriate geometry and holes to attach an SPD type cycling cleat. The device may possess ground contact preventing members on the bottom surface to prevent the cycling cleat from contacting the ground while the shoe is used for walking. The template is used to confirm and mark the ideal location for the holes that must be cut thru the shoe sole to accommodate the cleat attachment area and fasteners for the device.

A helmet includes a shell, an eyeport formed in the shell, a shield having inwardly projecting hubs, and a pair of sockets on the shell. The sockets are positioned and configured to receive and rotatably capture the inwardly projecting hubs of the shield so that the shield is hingable about the hubs between a closed position covering the eyeport and an open position displaced from the eyeport. Each of the sockets is generally oblong to facilitate insertion of said hubs into the sockets to mount the shield to the helmet and to facilitate removal of the hubs from the sockets to detach the shield from the helmet.

A helmet is provided that includes a shell, an eyeport formed in the shell, a shield on the shell movable between a closed position and an open position, and a lever assembly on the shell. The lever assembly includes a lever and a hub having at least one dowel. The lever assembly is rotatable about an axis of the hub between a home position, a shield cracking position, and a shield restraining position. A motion plate is on the shield and located to cover at least a portion of the hub when the shield is in its closed position. The motion plate is formed with a plurality of surfaces, where one of the surfaces is engaged by the dowel when the shield is closed and the lever assembly is rotated to the shield cracking position to cause the shield to be raised slightly from its closed position to a cracked position.
