A power semiconductor module includes a first main electrode, a second main electrode and a control terminal. The power semiconductor module includes controllable power semiconductor components arranged between the first main electrode and the second main electrode. At least some of the controllable power semiconductor components are arranged in a ring arrangement, wherein the controllable power semiconductor components of the ring arrangement are arranged at least approximately along a first circular line of the ring arrangement, and a control conductor track of the ring arrangement is arranged on the first main electrode, wherein the control conductor track runs at least approximately along a second circular line of the ring arrangement, and the second circular line runs concentrically relative to the first circular line.

Power semiconductor module

A converter module for power converter stations includes a first terminal for input/output of an electrical current to the converter module via a first connection line, a second terminal for output/input of the current from the converter module via a second connection line, and a by-pass switch connected between the first terminal and the second terminal. The converter module further includes a first switching module and a second switching module connected in series via a first node connected to either one of the first terminal and the second terminal and at least two capacitor units. The first switching module includes two switching devices and the second switching module is connected between the first node and a second node. In the converter module, a first capacitor unit is connected from the second node to a first switching device of the first switching module and a second capacitor unit is connected from the second node to a second switching device of the first switching module to form two separate current paths between the first node and the second node. Accordingly, a reduction of the energy discharge is obtained upon failure of one or more of the switching devices or modules.

Converter module for HVDC power station

A bypass switch provides a bypass path between a first terminal and a second terminal. The bypass switch includes: a first set of electrical contacts respectively connected to the first terminal and the second terminal; a second set of electrical contacts respectively connected to the first terminal and the second terminal; and a movable member. The movable member includes a first conductive section, a second conductive section and an insulator between the first conductive section and the second conductive section, wherein the movable member is movable from an initial state, via a first state, to a second state, wherein in the initial state the first set of electrical contacts are conductively separated and the second set of electrical contacts are conductively separated, in the first state the first set of electrical contacts are conductively connected via the first conductive section and the second set of electrical contacts are conductively separated, and in the second state the second set of electrical contacts are conductively connected via the second conductive section.

A high voltage valve arrangement includes a high voltage valve unit; an external electric shield structure arranged at least partially around the high voltage modular valve unit and a grounding system. The grounding system includes a grounding system configured to be remotely extended from a retracted position to an extended position, whereby the extendable grounding device establishes electric connection with the external shield structure when it is extended from the retracted position.

Ground system for high voltage semiconductor valve

A semiconductor assembly includes a stack with a semiconductor module and a cooler, wherein the semiconductor module is provided in contact with the cooler. A clamping assembly is adapted to exert a force on the two sides of the stack. The stack is provided with a through hole between the two sides thereof and a part of the clamping assembly including an electrically conductive part which extends through the through hole of the stack. Thereby, a compact mechanical arrangement is provided while obtaining improved electrical properties, such as lower inductance and more even current distribution.

Semiconductor assembly having a press pack stack

A switch assembly is disclosed for use in a circuit configured to carry a current between a first electrical conductor and a second electrical conductor. The switch assembly includes at least a first current path and a second current path, each of which includes an electrical contact which can be selectively connected to or disconnected from the second electrical conductor. At least one of the first current path and the second current path is configured such that it has a frequency-dependent reactance or impedance so as to force or cause current with a frequency which complies with a selected frequency criterion and which flows between the first electrical conductor and the second electrical conductor to flow, at least to a greater extent, via a selected one of the first current path and the second current path.

Switch assembly for use in a power transmission system

A remotely controllable grounding system including at least one movable rod element having at least one conductive and isolating sections and at least one conductor configured to be electrically connected to ground and the movable rod element. The grounding system including at least one pair of positive and negative grounding terminals arranged to be fixedly connected to electric equipment to be grounded. The grounding system includes a rod propulsion system arranged to be remotely controlled and configured to move the at least one movable rod element from an ungrounded position (U), in which the positive and negative grounding terminals are isolated from one another by the isolating section, into a grounded position (G), in which the positive and negative grounding terminals are galvanically connected with one another by the conductive section and in which grounded position the conductive section is connected to ground via the at least one conductor.

Grounding system

A linear generator for submerged use in generating electricity has a linearly reciprocating translator which is attached to a wire and a rod arranged to connect the translator to a floating body on the sea surface. The generator has a sealed housing forming a watertight chamber in which the translator is located. The rod is arranged to pass through a sealed opening in a wall portion of the housing. When operated, the wall portion with the sealed opening is located at a level that is below the level of the upper end of the translator at least during a part of the movement of the translator.

Linear generator for submerged use and a method of producing electric energy

The invention relates to a stator frame () for a submerged linear generator. According to the invention the stator frame () includes a cylindrical tube of metal with mounting means () for mounting stator packages to the inside wall of the tube. The stator frame () also is the external circumferential wall of the linear generator. The invention also relates to the use of such a stator frame () and to a method for manufacturing a linear generator with such a stator frame ().
