A rotary machine for acting on a process fluid includes an impeller, a shaft, a drive, a seal and a flush casing. The impeller acts on the process fluid and is mounted on the shaft. The drive is connected to the shaft and rotates the shaft and the impeller about an axial direction. The seal has a sealing element sealing the shaft during rotation of the shaft. The flush casing receives a flushing fluid for flushing the sealing element, and delimits an annular flush chamber extending about the sealing element. The flush casing includes a bushing surrounding the sealing element and delimits a radial leakage gap arranged between the sealing element and the bushing. The bushing delimits an axial leakage gap between the impeller and the bushing, and the width of the axial leakage gap in the axial direction is adjustable.

A vane for an impeller of an agitator includes a socket having a base plane configured to mount the vane to an impeller, and a blade configured to mix a process fluid, the blade having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a blade tip extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge at an end of the blade facing away from the socket, the blade having a pressure side and a suction side, and the pressure side having a first concave region towards the leading edge, a second concave region toward the trailing edge and a convex region between the first and second concave regions.

A shut-off device includes a housing, a central passage extending in an axial direction to surround the shaft, a ring-shaped first disk, a ring-shaped second disk arranged in the housing and parallel with and spaced apart from the ring-shaped first disk in the axial direction, and an expandable annular seal having a first side wall, a second side wall and an elastic bottom, the first side wall and the second side wall each extending in a radial direction, and the bottom connecting a radially inner end of the first side wall with a radially inner end of the second side wall, and the housing includes an inlet for a fluid to expand the seal, the first side wall of the seal arranged and clamped between the housing and the first disk and the second side wall of the seal arranged and clamped between the housing and the second disk.

A rotary machine for mixing, pumping or agitating a fluid includes an impeller for acting on the fluid, a drive unit for rotating the impeller around a rotation axis, a drive shaft connecting the impeller with the drive unit, a mounting flange for fastening the rotary machine to a wall of a vessel, and a support structure for supporting the rotary machine, the support structure comprising at least one leg, each leg extending in a vertical plane from a first end along a longitudinal axis to a second end, each leg including an outer member and an inner member coaxially arranged in the outer member, and the inner member slidingly movable relative to the outer member for adjusting the length of the respective leg. In addition, a method of mounting a rotary machine for mixing, pumping or agitating a fluid to a wall of a vessel is proposed.

A vane for an impeller of an agitator for mixing or agitating a process fluid includes a socket for mounting the vane to an impeller and a blade for mixing or agitating the process fluid, the blade being connected to the socket, the blade having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a blade tip extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge at the end of the blade facing away from the socket, and the blade having a height and a width. The height is the maximum distance of the blade tip from the socket and the width is the distance of the leading edge from the trailing edge. The blade has a maximum width that is at least 55 percent.
