Limited uplink bandwidth radio network devices are supported on wide bandwidth uplink carriers by configuring and controlling the use of multiple control regions within the uplink carrier bandwidth. In some embodiments, the total bandwidth of the uplink carrier is divided into a plurality of sub-band portions, wherein each sub-band portion includes at least one control region nominally dedicated to the transmission of uplink control signaling. Radio network devices are configured with a specified portion of the uplink carrier bandwidth for use for uplink transmission, which includes at least one control region. Radio network devices may be provisioned or provided with information regarding control regions reserved for control signaling by other radio network devices. The radio network devices may be dynamically configured to allow or suppress uplink data signaling in specified control regions, or portions thereof.

Selective suppression of uplink transmission in control regions

The present disclosure pertains to a terminal for a Radio Access Network, the terminal being adapted for transmission based on a first frequency division multiple access (FDMA) technology and for transmission based on a second frequency division multiple access technology. Common reference signal design for OFDM and DFTS-OFDM

Embodiments herein disclose e.g. a method performed by a wireless device () for handling communication for the wireless device in a second wireless communication network. The second wireless communication network coexists with a first wireless communication network on a same bandwidth in frequency, wherein the first wireless communication network applies a first shift in frequency in uplink transmissions. The wireless device receives from a radio network node (), an indication indicating application of a second shift in frequency to uplink transmissions in case the second wireless communication network uses Frequency Division Duplex (FDD). The wireless device further applies the second shift in frequency to uplink transmissions, wherein the second shift defines a shift in frequency to a subcarrier relative to a subcarrier grid of the second wireless communication network or a shift in frequency to the subcarrier grid of the second wireless communication network.

Performing random access process. In one aspect, there is a method performed by a network function. The method comprises the network function generating system information and the network function broadcasting the system information. The system information comprises i) first power information for use by at least a first set of communication devices and a second set of communication devices in determining a transmit power, and ii) second power information for use by the first set of communication devices, but not the second set of communication devices, in determining the transmit power.

Random access channel (RACH) process for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) networks

To configure uplink sounding signal transmission in a wireless communication network, sets of configuration parameters for uplink sounding signal transmissions are determined for a given mobile terminal. Each of the sets of configuration parameters comprises a priority, a frequency-domain parameter and a time-domain parameter. The sets of configuration parameters are transmitted to the mobile terminal, thereby configuring the mobile terminal to generate different sounding signals and use the priorities to select from among the different sets of configuration parameters in the event of a sounding signal transmission collision.

Channel sounding using multiple sounding configurations

Mechanisms for efficient transmission of large amount of download data from a base station to a user equipment in a multi-carrier that minimizes power consumption on the user equipment are described. When multiple component carriers are to be used to transmit the download data, the base station informs the user equipment. The base station transmits on the anchor carriers without wait after informing the user equipment and transmits on the non-anchor carriers after waiting a predetermined delay. The predetermined delay provides time to allow the user equipment to activate the receiving resources and be ready to receive the download data over the non-anchor carriers. In this manner, the user equipment can be in a power conservation mode and activate the receiver resources only when needed.

Atmospheric channel-driven interference handling

Systems and methods are provided for allocation of acknowledgement resources. In an embodiment, a method of transmitting control information to a communication network may be implemented in a wireless device. The method may include being configured with at least two physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) opportunities, each of the at least two PUCCH opportunities identifying uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information to the communication network. The method may further include receiving an acknowledgement resource indication (ARI) indicating one of the configured at least two PUCCH opportunities to be used for transmitting control information associated with the DL transmission.

Allocation of acknowledgement resources

A method performed by a first base station for positioning in a cellular communication system includes receiving, at the first base station, a signal transmitted by a second base station and estimating a Time of Arrival (TOA) of the received signal at the first base station according to a clock of the first base station. The method further includes determining a delta value that is a function of an amount of time between the TOA of the received signal at the first base station and a time reference at the first base station and performing either, (a) providing the delta value to a positioning estimation entity within the cellular communications system or (b) using the delta value at the first base station to reduce a time synchronization error between the first base station and the second base station, or (c) passing the delta value to a User Equipment (UE).

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

A user equipment is configured with at least two collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information to a communication network. The UE receives an assignment of radio resources to be used for receiving a downlink transmission from a base station of the communication network. The UE receives an acknowledgement resource indication, ARI, indicating one of the configured collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information associated with the DL transmission. Further, the UE transmits the control information to the base station on at least a subset of the indicated collection of UL resources. In example embodiments, the indicated collection of uplink resources comprises a plurality of selectable uplink resource sets. The control information is transmitted on one of the uplink resource sets which corresponds to an operational state of the communication network.

There is disclosed a method of operating an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node (, C, N) in a radio access network, the IAB node (, C, N) being connected to a first parent IAB node (, N, P) via a first backhaul link having a first timing, and being connected to a second parent IAB node (, N, P) via a second backhaul link having a second timing, the IAB node (, C, N) providing a communication link for access or backhaul, the communication link having a communication timing based on the first timing and the second timing. Methods and apparatus are provided for determining timing of resources in an integrated access and backhaul, IAB, node (). In one example, a method (), is performed by an integrated access and backhaul, IAB, node (), the method comprising: determining (s) one or more timing offset for a time resource, the offset being in relation to a mobile termination, MT, and a distributed unit, DU, resource of the IAB node, and providing (s) to a parent IAB node (), information related to the one or more timing offset of the IAB node.

In one embodiment, a method of transmitting system information on a downlink shared channel structured as successive subframes includes transmitting system information in regularly occurring time windows, each time window spanning some number of successive subframes. The method further includes indicating to receiving user equipment which subframes within a given time window carry system information. The method and variations of it are applied, for example, to the transmission of dynamic system information on the downlink shared channel or other downlink channel in a 3GPP E-UTRA wireless communication network.

Embodiments include methods performed by an integrated access backhaul (JAB) node configured for operation in an IAB network. Such methods include receiving, from an upstream node in the IAB network, first timing offset information related to communications between the IAB node and the upstream node. Such methods include transmitting a downlink (DL) signal to one or more downstream nodes in the IAB network. The DL signal is transmitted according to a DL transmission timing determined from the following: the IAB node's DL reception timing of a DL signal received from the upstream node; and a second timing value determined based on a first function of the first timing offset information, when the first function of the first timing offset information is greater than a threshold.
