Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for determining a muting pattern of a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmission for Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node measurement. In one embodiment, a network node is configured to indicate a first muting pattern, the indication of the first muting pattern indicating at least one first synchronization signal block, SSB, transmission opportunity associated with SSB transmission configuration, STC, that is mutable by an Integrated Access Backhaul, IAB, node. In one embodiment, a network node is configured to determine a first muting pattern, the first muting pattern indicating at least one SSB transmission opportunity associated with a STC that is mutable by the network node; and mute the at least one first SSB transmission opportunity according to the determined first muting pattern.

Methods for determining a muting pattern of SSB transmission for IAB node measurement

A method, system, network nodes and apparatus are disclosed. According to one or more embodiments, a donor integrated access backhaul, IAB, node configured with a distributed unit, DU, for communicating with a wireless device and configured with a central unit, CU, for communicating with at least a first child IAB node is provided. Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

Limited uplink bandwidth radio network devices are supported on wide bandwidth uplink carriers by configuring and controlling the use of multiple control regions within the uplink carrier bandwidth. In some embodiments, the total bandwidth of the uplink carrier is divided into a plurality of sub-band portions, wherein each sub-band portion includes at least one control region nominally dedicated to the transmission of uplink control signaling. Radio network devices are configured with a specified portion of the uplink carrier bandwidth for use for uplink transmission, which includes at least one control region. Radio network devices may be provisioned or provided with information regarding control regions reserved for control signaling by other radio network devices. The radio network devices may be dynamically configured to allow or suppress uplink data signaling in specified control regions, or portions thereof.

Random access channel (RACH) process for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) networks

To configure uplink sounding signal transmission in a wireless communication network, sets of configuration parameters for uplink sounding signal transmissions are determined for a given mobile terminal. Each of the sets of configuration parameters comprises a priority, a frequency-domain parameter and a time-domain parameter. The sets of configuration parameters are transmitted to the mobile terminal, thereby configuring the mobile terminal to generate different sounding signals and use the priorities to select from among the different sets of configuration parameters in the event of a sounding signal transmission collision.

Channel sounding using multiple sounding configurations

Mechanisms for efficient transmission of large amount of download data from a base station to a user equipment in a multi-carrier that minimizes power consumption on the user equipment are described. When multiple component carriers are to be used to transmit the download data, the base station informs the user equipment. The base station transmits on the anchor carriers without wait after informing the user equipment and transmits on the non-anchor carriers after waiting a predetermined delay. The predetermined delay provides time to allow the user equipment to activate the receiving resources and be ready to receive the download data over the non-anchor carriers. In this manner, the user equipment can be in a power conservation mode and activate the receiver resources only when needed.

Atmospheric channel-driven interference handling

Systems and methods are provided for allocation of acknowledgement resources. In an embodiment, a method of transmitting control information to a communication network may be implemented in a wireless device. The method may include being configured with at least two physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) opportunities, each of the at least two PUCCH opportunities identifying uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information to the communication network. The method may further include receiving an acknowledgement resource indication (ARI) indicating one of the configured at least two PUCCH opportunities to be used for transmitting control information associated with the DL transmission.

Allocation of acknowledgement resources

A method performed by a first base station for positioning in a cellular communication system includes receiving, at the first base station, a signal transmitted by a second base station and estimating a Time of Arrival (TOA) of the received signal at the first base station according to a clock of the first base station. Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

A user equipment is configured with at least two collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information to a communication network. The UE receives an assignment of radio resources to be used for receiving a downlink transmission from a base station of the communication network. The UE receives an acknowledgement resource indication, ARI, indicating one of the configured collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information associated with the DL transmission. Further, the UE transmits the control information to the base station on at least a subset of the indicated collection of UL resources. In example embodiments, the indicated collection of uplink resources comprises a plurality of selectable uplink resource sets. The control information is transmitted on one of the uplink resource sets which corresponds to an operational state of the communication network.
