A device and method are provided for receiving and presenting input content. The device initially displays an input screen including a user action interface region having a first input field having a first fixed width and a fixed height. When overflowing content is detected, the first input field is replaced with at least one user interface element, and the first input field is translated and expanded to a new second position substantially non-overlapping with the first, the new input field being larger in width than the original input field.

Communication device and method for receipt and presentation of input and feedback

A control circuit provides a list of contacts on a touch-screen display and then, in response to detecting a touch-based selection of a particular contact, responsively depicts a plurality of contact addresses as correspond to that particular contact. A most frequently utilized contact address is placed at a location on the touch-screen display that corresponds to the touch-based selection of the particular contact. So configured, the user need likely not move their touching finger to locate the desired contact address. The most frequently utilized contact address can comprise a most frequently called telephone number since any new telephone number was last added to the plurality of telephone numbers for this particular contact.

Method and apparatus pertaining to depicting a plurality of contact addresses

A Graphical User Interface (GUI) for a user device provides an interface for communicating data with nodes in a cloud computing network. The GUI has a communication layer for establishing a dedicated communications session with the cloud computing network, and a cloud interface layer that displays data and information received from the cloud computing network to the user on a display of the device. The GUI usually remains off the visible display screen, but is moved onto the visible display screen over a current user workspace responsive to detecting a first user event. The contents of the GUI may be generated dynamically based on a context of the user workspace. The GUI is moved back to its 'out-of-view' position responsive to detecting a subsequent user event, and is translucent to allow the user to see the workspace through the GUI.

Cloud communication layer for a user device

A control circuit determines a contact number as corresponds to an incoming call, accesses a contacts list to identify at least one contact identifier as corresponds to that contact number, and then makes a corresponding decision and/or takes a corresponding action regarding the display of more than one contact identifier as corresponds to the contact number and/or a numeric representation of how many contact identifiers correspond to the contact number. This can comprise simultaneously displaying at least two contact identifiers as correspond to the incoming contact number. These multiple identifiers can be displayed in a predetermined order. For example, earlier-entered contact identifiers may be presented ahead of later-entered contact identifiers. By another approach, the foregoing can comprise displaying only one of the candidate contact identifiers along with a numeric representation of how many contact identifiers correspond to the contact number.

Method and apparatus pertaining to presenting incoming-call identifiers

A control circuit, during a call via a wireless transceiver with a first party, permits a user to establish a call via the wireless transceiver with a second party apart from the call with the first party and then, during at least a part of a call-establishment process to establish a call with the second party, displays via a touch-screen display a user-selectable option to return to the call with the first party. This user-selectable option can comprise, at least in part, a moniker for the first party. The control circuit may obtain this moniker by accessing a contacts list. If desired, this user-selectable option can be colored a color that contrasts with other displayed proximal colors then presently displayed on the touch-screen display in order to highlight the user-selectable option's availability.
