A self-contained portable apparatus for administration of a drug solution includes a housing having an enclosure for receiving a flexible pouch containing a drug solution, the output of which is connectable to a conduit for delivering the drug solution to a recipient. A pressurization system is arranged for providing a constant and controllable gas pressure to the housing in order to obtain a controllable delivery of the drug solution. The pressurization system includes a pressure source for delivering positive pressure gas; a pressure accumulation tank connected to the source and the second chamber; a one-way valve arranged between the pressure source and the pressure accumulation tank; and a mechanical pressure regulator arranged between the pressure accumulation tank and the housing. Hereby, an extremely stable and well controllable output pressure and output flow is obtainable.

Self-contained portable apparatus for administration of a drug solution

An apparatus for collecting and salvaging blood includes: a first chamber with a below atmosphere internal pressure for continuous collection of blood through an inlet port; a second chamber for receiving blood from the first chamber through a connection channel; a channel valve manually controllable to close the connection channel; and a control for simultaneously controlling the channel valve and the internal pressure of the second chamber between an internal pressure corresponding to the internal pressure of the first chamber and ambient air pressure, wherein the control is arranged to provide an internal pressure corresponding to the internal pressure of the first chamber to the second chamber through a passageway separated from the connection channel for providing blood from the first chamber to the second chamber.

Method and apparatus for autotransfusion

A surgical instrument for ligating internal tissue of a cavity in the human body by means of an elastic cord is disclosed. The instrument comprises an inner tube, having a distal and a proximal part, with the distal part having a distal end adapted to carry an elastic cord strained around it and with the proximal part arranged to be connected to a vacuum source, wherein at least one tube bend is formed between the distal and proximal part. Further, an outer discharge member is provided to push said elastic cord beyond the distal end of said tube to close around the stem of a tissue when inserted in the tube, the discharge member comprising an outer discharge part displaceably arranged around the distal part, an actuating part displaceably arranged around the proximal part, and a flexible connection part following said tube bend and arranged to transfer a movement of the actuating part to the discharge part.
