A bolted pipe joint releasable by remote control includes two flanges each eing disposed at a respective one of two pipe ends. A centering aid cooperates with both of the flanges. A seal is provided for the pipe ends. A fastening screw presses the two flanges together. The fastening screw has first and second threaded regions being successively engaged upon pressing the flanges together. The first threaded region has a substantially greater pitch than the second threaded region.

A remote-controllable screw connection includes a nut, a first flange relvely closer to and a second flange relatively further away from the nut. At least one screw bolt connects the flanges to the nut. A sheath surrounds the screw bolt between the nut and the first flange. The sheath is non-rotatably but axially displaceably connected to the screw bolt.

The shut-off device is a hollow cylinder upon which is disposed a brake for fixing the position of the device in the pipeline and a seal which seals the area between the hollow cylinder and the wall of the pipeline. A valve is positioned in the hollow cylinder which allows flow of the pipeline fluid through the hollow cylinder when open but can be closed to stop the flow of pipeline fluid through the cylinder. The device is movable through the pipeline.

Nuclear reactor installation in underground construction having a tunnel extending from a location at the surface of the earth to an underground concrete tank includes an auxiliary tunnel extending from a branching location of the first-mentioned tunnel to a location at the surface of the earth different than that from which the first-mentioned tunnel extends, the auxiliary tunnel having a cross section smaller than that of the first-mentioned tunnel and having means disposed therein for blocking the auxiliary tunnel, the blocking means being openable during operation of the nuclear reactor installation, the first-mentioned tunnel being substantially rectilinear and being continuously closed during operation of the nuclear reactor installation between the branching location thereof and the location at the surface of the earth from which the first-mentioned tunnel extends.

An assembly of a closed steel containment vessel and a concrete foundation, the containment vessel being partly seated on the concrete foundation and partly free-standing and having built-in structures therein and pipelines extending therethrough, includes a multiplicity of linearly or areally distributed elongated threaded clamping members connecting the built-in structures with the concrete foundations, the threaded clamping members being oriented perpendicularly to the surface of the containment vessel, and resilient packing spacing at least part of the threaded clamping members from the concrete foundation, the resilient packing having a length shorter than the length of the threaded clamping members.
