The present invention relates, among other things, to a method for forming a workpiece () of a material having an exponential tensile stress-strain behavior into a thin-walled, hollow shell (). In this method, the workpiece () is clamped on its periphery and is actively rotated about its center line (M). A freely rotatable spinning die () having an external side () with the desired shell shape () is pressed with a suitable pressure force against a workpiece side (). At least one path-controlled spinning roller () is pressed against the other workpiece side () so that the rotating workpiece () is formed into shell () exclusively by the local pressure forces, the relative velocity between the workpiece () and the at least one spinning roller () and the force exerted on the workpiece () by the at least one spinning roller () and the spinning die () being matched to one another such that the pressure forces applied to the workpiece () are below the yield strength of the workpiece (). In addition, the present invention relates to a device for carrying out the method. Moreover, the present invention relates to a method and a device for forming a workpiece of a material which was previously only formable at known hot-forming temperatures, but as a result of the present invention, is now able to be formed into a thin-walled, hollow shell at a temperature below the hot-forming temperature known for the material of the workpiece.

The invention relates to a round-bale press for compressing refuse into round bales and to such a method. The round-bale press according to the invention enables refuse to be compacted within a compressing chamber ( ). For this purpose, an endless belt ( ), which together with two side walls ( ) defines a compressing chamber ( ), is driven. A pivotably supported endless belt segment ( ) can be moved out of a refuse compressing position into a discharge position in such a way that the compressed round bale can be discharged from the compressing chamber ( ) via this endless belt segment ( ).

Round-bale press and a method of compressing refuse

A round bale press for refuse, in particular for domestic refuse, bio-waste, sewage slurry, having a plurality of spaced rolls (1), at least one of which is capable of being driven, at least one endless belt (2) supported by the rolls (1), and a cylindrical pressing chamber (3) with a feed opening (4) on the peripheral side. The pressing chamber is capable of being formed by movement of the rolls (1) along a predetermined path line and by end walls (11) arranged at the end faces of the rolls (1). Additionally, the round bale press is included in a refuse packaging apparatus having a wrapping apparatus (40) downstream from the press for wrapping the pressed refuse bale, wrapped on the peripheral side in a netting web, in one or more foil webs (41), and a delivery station (50) beyond the wrapping apparatus (40) for the refuse bales completely wrapped in the foil web (41).

A method and an apparatus for cold-forming a sheet blank (2') made of a material with an exponential stress-strain behavior to become a thin-walled, hollow shell (2). The sheet blank (2') is clamped in a clamping means (3) with its circumference and rotatingly rotated around its center line (6). The shaping takes place by a first and a second path-controlled press roll (16, 17) engaging at opposite sides of the sheet blank (2') only by local pressure forces, wherein the relative speed between the workpiece (2', 2) and the press rolls and the force exerted by the press rolls to the workpiece are modulated in a manner that the tensile forces applied to the workpiece are below the yield point of the material.

Method & apparatus for shaping a sheet blank

A process and a device for metal spinning a blank into a formed part, especially into a vessel bottom, are described, which can be used for forming materials including materials which are difficult to deform, with high dimensional accuracy and/or high degrees of deformation. For attaining this object, the blank is clamped on its circumference and forced freely, i.e. without using a spinning chuck, into a clearance by means of a motion-controlled spinning tool until its finished dimension is reached.
